"Yadira?" She stands up and walks towards the door. "Yes?" She asks with a smile, moving onto a side to let Taeil in. "I'm going to the store. Is there anything you want?" He asks. "Can I come with?" She asks back, while jumping around all excited. "Are you feeling well enough?" He asks and the girl nods her head vigorously. "Sure then" Taeil chuckles before leaving the room with Yadira following behind him.
Yadira slightly shivered even with her hoodie on, as the two walked side by side. "Come here" Taeil said. Yadira moved closer to Taeil and the boy wrapped his arm around her, covering her as well with his large coat. "Thank you" Yadira says. "Anytime" Taeil replies with a smile. Silence took over, and the two just enjoyed the walk together.
"Do you want anything?" Taeil asks chuckling, seeing that Yadira was looking at the snacks right at the top. She glared at him and that only made Taeil want to annoy her more. "You're looking a little short there" he adds, holding in his laugh. "I don't even see the difference in our heights. You're short too" Yadira replies. "You're still shorter than me though" he says making her roll her eyes.
"I can't believe him" Yadira groans as she looks up at the same shelf. The two had split up to get whatever they wanted, and she was still trying to get the bag of chips that were right at the top although she had grabbed a few other snacks. "I knew you can't do it" she heard and turned around to see Taeil. "Just get it for me. Idiot" she says making Taeil chuckle.
"Wanna eat something?" Taeil asks once the two left the store, seeing that there was a little food stand along the street. Although the weather was cold it was still nice, which was why there were many other people along the streets or even beside the food stands. "Sure" Yadira replies and follows Taeil to the food stand.
"You could've gone to school yesterday" Yadira says. The two were now seated on swings at a park, while eating their food. "I wouldn't have known if you died or not" he replies with a straight face. "YOU!!" Yadira screams and Taeil knew he went too far when she started hitting him. "I was only joking! OUCH- Why are you so strong?!" Taeil said grabbing onto Yadira's hand to stop her. "I was just kidding" he says once again, chuckling. "I was just kidding" Yadira imitates, rolling her eyes and getting back to eating.
Yadira smiles as she looked at Taeil while walking back home. He had looked happier. She knew he would still think of his parents but she could see him smiling more frequently, and that made her really happy. Even if him annoying her would make him happy, she would let him do it. She was also happy that her bestfriend was now living with her, and her parents accepted him as their own son. Taeil was one of the sweetest people ever, and knowing what he had to go through broke her as well. "You can stop staring at me now" Taeil says, turning to face her. "I hate you" she replies, rolling her eyes but nevertheless holds his hand as they continue their walk home.
