"Well, as you know, Jungkook-ssi, I'm on an assignment right now. Everything is well with my assigned human, but there is something else I found disconcerting while on assignment. There's a girl at the same school, her name is Charlotte. She's been experiencing abuse in her relationship for quite some time, I would guess," Jimin said, swallowing his ramen.
"That's really heartbreaking to hear," Jungkook responded.
"Yeah, but the thing that bothers me more is that she isn't on our database. I spoke with Joon-hyung, and he said that he hadn't seen any alerts about her."
"Hmm," Jungkook responded, standing up from the couch. "Should I make an appointment with upper management?"
"Yes, please. I have to be back in an hour, so let's buy you some food and then I'll be off," replied Jimin, also standing up.
"Hold on for a second, Hyung," replied Jungkook, typing on his phone. "There, done. They gave me an appointment for Tuesday, so you can come back then, if you're free."
Jimin nodded, and the two boys transported themselves into the nearest grocery store.
"Well, I should be heading off. See you soon!" said Jimin as the two boys finished putting the groceries away,
HYERI POV (Occurring simultaneously as Jimin and Jungkook's meeting)
Hyeri wrote, and watched the black ink as it marked her paper. She loved writing, hand writing. It was fascinating for her to watch the ink flow out of her pen and onto the paper. This was a benefit, for when she took notes, like now, she wasn't completely bored. In the middle of reading a section of her history book, she heard her phone buzz. It was a text, but Hyeri didn't have the number saved.
Unknown number: Hey Hyeri, thanks for standing up for me today.
Hyeri furrowed her eyebrows, putting her pen down. She saw that the person was typing, and then stopped. This happened for about a minute, and then Hyeri responded.
Hyeri: Who is this? Charlotte?
Unknown number: No, it's your fairy godmother, dumbhead. Yes, it's me, sorry lmao.
Hyeri: Okay, fairy godmom, you're meaner than I thought, but I'll take it. It was no problem :)
Hyeri debated whether she should say something more. After a few seconds, she decided to go for it.
Hyeri: Honestly, Charlotte, I've always been kind of jealous and cautious of you lol. I mean, you're so pretty, confident, and smart. I could never have imagined you were going through so much. I'm sorry I didn't reach out earlier.
Hyeri could see that Charlotte was typing, and then not. She knew she shouldn't have texted that.
Charlotte: Thanks, Hyeri. It's not your fault. You think I'm pretty and confident? Well, I guess everyone sees themselves differently than others see them.
Charlotte: I've just met you, but you're the officially the coolest person I know.
Hyeri smiled.
Hyeri: Well, you know, they do call me the Ice Girl.
Charlotte: x_x
Hyeri: ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Hyeri paused for a moment, and then typed again.
Hyeri: Why didn't you reach out to anyone? Not that I'm blaming you at all, I'm just wondering
Charlotte: Typing...
Charlotte:
Charlotte: I'm a coward lol so thanks for asking me over text and not in person. I've never really experienced "love" love
Charlotte: I thought I loved Jiho. And that he loved me. Maybe he did in the beginning. He helped to accept myself. But I guess what they say is true. The line between love and hate is thin.
Charlotte: Maybe that's why. I still believed he loved me. I was afraid of him, yeah. But I knew if I told someone, it would all end. All of the agony.
Hyeri: Typing...
Hyeri:
Charlotte: But I didn't want it to end. Because there were moments of happiness in between the pain.
Hyeri: I don't know what love is either. But I know one thing for sure
Hyeri: The one that loves you would never do anything that they know would hurt you.
Hyeri: Even if your love can't last. If he ever loved you, he would never have hurt you.
Charlotte: Typing...
Charlotte:
Hyeri: Didn't your parents notice?
Charlotte: I live with my dad. My parents divorced when my sister was three and I was seven.
Charlotte: He noticed the bruises. But I told him it was just cheer practice. I could tell that he didn't believe me.
Charlotte: One day, Jiho came over and my father talked to him about them. He confirmed my cheer story, but the next day... I'd rather not say.
Charlotte: Can we talk about something else?
Hyeri: Sure
Hyeri: What did you get on the history test last week?
Charlotte: 98%. I'm satisfied lmao, wby? What did u get?
Hyeri: 62% :(
Hyeri: I'm taking a make-up next week.
Charlotte: Oof, go studyy
Hyeri: Yupp lol see you tmr
Charlotte: See you!
Hyeri sighed and checked the time. It had almost been an hour since she was supposed to start studying. She went back to reading and flipped a page.
A/N:
FIRSTLY
Abuse it never okay. Even if it doesn't feel like abuse, if your partner is making you feel any way that you do not like, leave them. THEY AREN'T THE ONE. Anyone who you think is supposed to help you feel safe and secure and loved, but they make you feel ANY type of unsafe or bad, do not date them.
AND NOW
I have nothing to say honestly.
I thought I published this but apparently not?
Welp.
I hope you all enjoyed! I will try to update more regularly, as the school year is almost overr.
I'm always open for feedback!
Take care and remember to smile.
I purple you all~
With love,
Prisha
