"Get up we're leaving, I mean we're escaping. Now"
My body was aching. The man stood over me in such urgency that he yanked me from my sleeping bag.
"Winter?! What are you doing?"
"Please, just call me Bucky. You and I are getting out of here. You don't deserve what has happened to you and I'm the only one that can get you out of here."
"And what happens if we don't make it out the gate?" My body shaking as Bucky helped me out of my cell.
"We can worry about that later." The look in his eyes was unsure but not pleasant.
Out of the 200 soldiers why is he helping me? What does he want with me.
"Look Kayden. Your 14 years old, your the youngest and strongest soldier here, you have your whole life ahead of you. And your my partner. You have been for 30 years."
I was on ice for 30 years?!
"I can't stand back and help them destroy a girls life. Especially yours."
"Are you coming with me?"
"Your like my child Kayden. I'll never leave you behind. Never have and never will."
We approached the double steal gates at the end of the hallway. My body still hasn't comprehend that I am not in the ice anymore. And that my muscles need to work in order to get out of here.
"Kay, I know your really tired. I get it, I've been in your position multiple times. But I need you to use all your energy. Your a fighter and I know you can do it."
Bucky leaned me against the wall so I was able to hold some of my body weight up.
"Can you do that for me?"
"Of course soldier."
