Final Goodbyes

I slowly eased into consciousness, unsure of how long I was asleep. But I did know that I must've slept like a fucking rock.

I took in my surroundings: car, Dean, passenger seat, movement. Dean must've woken up at some point and taken over the wheel.

I didn't feel like moving. I just sat there in a tired slump. Screw consciousness, that's what I say.

I remained curled up in my seat, trying to go back to sleep, when I heard Dean's voice. "Mornin' sunshine."

I groaned. "How'd you know I was awake?"

"'Cause you stopped snoring."

I groaned again and sat up. "I do not snore."

He smirked. "Sure you don't."

I stretched out my aching muscles, cracking my knuckles and my neck. "Where are we?"

"I'll give you a hint; it starts with 'C' and ends with 'Anada'."

I grinned. "Finally. We're finally here. The wondrous land... of Cuba." I joked.

He shot me a bitchface, Samantha Whittaker style. "Ha, ha. You're welcome for the ride to your stupid little country here."

"Okay, so these Canadians, do they end every sentence with 'eh'? Or is it just certain moments when they feel it's appropriate?"

"How am I supposed to know?"

"I dunno, you're weird, I guess."

"Whatever happened to that old philosophy of yours? Y'know, weird is another way of saying special, and special is another way of saying-"

"Too cool to be like everyone else?" I finished.

"Exactly. That's the Cas I was hoping I could find again."

"So you were looking for me."

"Yeah, I was hoping to find you, that doesn't mean I was stalking you. There's a difference."

"Not a very big one."

"Okay, change of subject; what in the hell were you dreaming about?"

"What do you mean?"

"Well, when you weren't giggling, you were singing some old song by Simply Red."

Damn you, Ellen.

"Then you started singing an old 'NSYNC tune. God Must've Spent A Little More Time On You?"

I decided to be sarcastic, as usual. "Really? Why, thank you, Dean! That's adorable!"

He rolled his eyes, of course. "You know what I mean."

"Wait a minute, you know 'NSYNC?"

He paused briefly. "A little."

"I can't see you as an 'NSYNC fan."

"Why not?"

"I dunno. Just can't."

"I can like 'NSYNC just as much as you!"

"Well, I haven't listened to them in years, so, yeah, I imagine so."

"Okay, well, we're in Canada now, so where do we go from here?"

"Are we in Vancouver?"

"I think we're somewhere in Ontario."

"We need to get to Vancouver. Vancouver priority."

"Why?"

"Well, Supernatural is filmed in Vancouver. Think of the opportunities."
