Sai wondered how he got to where he was now. He wondered when his life took a one-eighty and landed him in his current predicament.
Sure, he didn't have the most ideal life with being constantly bullied by his peers and his only living family abandoning him one-by-one due to misfortunes of fate, but it was still a better life than what most quirkless population of the current society got. For that part, he was grateful. But it still didn't explain the reason why he had ended up where he had.
"Sai, are you seriously considering this?" the spikey, white-haired male asked while looking at him.
"This is a dangerous one. And after all the years you've gone through to keep your identity a secret, why would you risk everything like this?"
The green-haired male sighed and shook his head.
"There is no other choice. With all the activities that those group of villains are planning, I can't sit still doing nothing," he replied as he walked past the taller boy into his kitchen.
"Come on, Sai, you can't be serious!" the taller of the two protested.
"Tsuki, you know that I can handle myself. Why are you so against this?" Sai asked turning to look at his friend, a glass of water in his hand.
"Are you seriously just asking me that?"
Sai didn't say anything as he handed Tsuki his water and sat down on the sofa in his living room. The taller male accepted the glass of water and sat down on the only armchair that the smaller of the two owned.
"You've got many enemies. And if they got to know you were infiltrating that school, they won't just come after you."
Sai stayed quiet and didn't respond to what his only friend said. He knew the risks he would be taking if he were to attend that school. But the information that he had right now was detrimental for the lives of students and the Number One Hero alike.
"Tsuki," he called out to bring his friend's worried rambling to an end. "I know. I know all the risks to myself and what consequences it could bring. But this is the only choice if I want to be able to protect those in danger. Nobody else can take those risks but me."
Tsuki sighed as he all but gave up trying to change Sai's mind.
"What about the rest of us? What will we do in your absence?"
The green-haired boy leaned back on the armchair and crossed his legs, one over the other.
"The usual. Keep training and gathering information. But of course, any other future clients will have to get my approval first. Not much would change except for me being gone for slightly more hours a day," he answered calmly. He had everything thought through.
"... And what if he was there?"
"..."
"I don't want you to be hurt. You've saved us from utter ruin and hell. We won't be able to go on without you, if anything were to happen."
"Even if he is there, it's in the past and I've forgiven him. For now."
Tsuki sighed as he pushed back the stray white strands on his forehead.
"There's no changing your mind, huh?"
Sai smiled in an attempt to comfort his best friend. He had always been very protective of him ever since they had started this small organisation together.
"You know me too well."
At that the two exchanged a small laughter while Tsuki shook his head slightly at his friend's actions.
"Alright then, you do you. We'll keep an eye out for the regular 'trouble-makers'," Tsuki said as he got up to leave.
"If there's any sort of trouble at the school, you let us know and we'll sort it out."
"I will," Sai answered with a fond smile as he too got up to show his friend out.
Tsuki stopped at the door before turning to Sai with curiosity in his eyes.
"By the way, will you be using your powers?"
"Only one. Just in case."
Tsuki let out a malicious grin at the thought of Sai using his powers. That green-haired, bunny-like boy could overturn the world if he wanted to.
"I'll see you later then, boss. Take care!"
Before Sai could reprimand him for addressing him as "boss" again, his friend was already out the door.
He sighed as he closed the door and went back to the files that he had left on this study in his room. Afterall, he was the most priced information broker of the world. That meant work hours never took a break.
"Get ready heroes. It's all going to be chaotic from here on out."
