(Metal Sonic's POV)

The entire afternoon was filled with Sonic and Tails chatting while I mostly stayed silent, not without Sonic often sort of teasing me about being antisocial of course, but I took no mind to it. Tails was a lot nicer than Knuckles, Amy and Shadow were. He listened closely when Sonic told him everything, except for the part where he confessed his feelings to me. I watched as Tails and Sonic said goodbye to each other and Tails left the house just like that. I couldn't deny that I was grateful for Tails letting me grow on him in a good way, but a part of me still worried that the others might try to say it was all a trick. Sonic closed the door and sat down next to me, the only sound around us being the crickets that chirped outside.

"Well, that was interesting." Sonic inquired.

"At least Tails was better around me than the others were," I commented.

"He learns the politeness from Cream, anytime he would even scowl a little bit, she'd correct it like crazy," Sonic replied, chuckling afterward.

"Who's Cream again?" I asked him in confusion.

"Cream's the beige rabbit that has a pet Chao named Cheese," Sonic answered me.

Now that Sonic mentioned it, I did recall seeing a young rabbit Mobian hanging out with Amy and some big purple cat that was almost as tall as Eggman. My heart started pounding the more I remembered the battle until I winced from getting a sudden headache and rested my hand on my head to keep myself steady.

"Metal, are you alright?" Sonic asked in concern.

"No," I replied, pain and extreme heat spreading through my body like wildfire.

Sonic's ears went down in response before he pulled me close to himself, rubbing the back of my head, which eased the intense pain a little as I started to calm down a bit.

"Getting a migraine, right?" Sonic questioned.

I nodded in response, not really feeling like talking right now. Sonic sighed, sounding worried for me as he rested his forehead against mine, the feeling alone further making me feel more at ease.

"It'll be okay," Sonic muttered to me.

I soon found myself purring within a couple of minutes, earning a small giggle from Sonic before he lied down, lying me next to himself and holding me close. I put my arms around Sonic, making sure he wouldn't fall off the couch, and pressed my face against his chest, enjoying the warm temperature that our bodies shared from close contact.

"Someone's rather cuddly tonight," Sonic said jokingly.

"It's hard not to be nowadays," I replied while chuckling in amusement.

"I'm guessing your migraine's gone now?" Sonic asked while moving to the point his face was inches from mine.

"Yeah," I replied, unable to help but smile at him.

Sonic stayed silent, his green eyes almost looking like they sparkled in the moonlight while his body emanated a beautiful glow in the moon's light. Sonic moved his face closer to mine, which sort of confused me until his lips suddenly collided with mine. I could feel my eyes widen in surprise while my heartbeat started to go crazy and my face felt more heated than it ever had before since the day I was turned into a Mobian. Eventually, I relaxed and let my eyes shut before I leaned in, deepening the physical contact. After about two minutes, we both pulled away while I noticed Sonic's face was almost red as a tomato.

"What was that?" I asked, unable to keep that question floating idly in my head.

"It's called a kiss, a couple usually shares one sometime in their relationship," Sonic explained to me. "And from the looks of it, you enjoyed it." He added with a small grin on his face.
