(Metal Sonic's POV)

Sonic jumped up at the flying robots before he curled himself into a ball and spin dashed right through them. I observed the movement before trying it, only to end up hitting a tree and I groaned from my head hurting.

"Metal!" Sonic yelled.

I turned around, seeing a net flying towards me and I immediately sped out of the way, ducking from one of Eggman's robots swinging their fist at me. Suddenly, I felt something stinging my shoulder and I grunted, glancing down to see that some tranquilizer dart was in it as the cyan liquid inside started to reach in my body. I pulled the dart out, only to fall due to my legs going numb and I felt like I was going into some sort of sleep, seeing Sonic continuing to fight the robots just before my vision darkened.

I groaned and found myself waking up, this bright light making me squint my eyes. Once my vision cleared, I could see that I woke up in some room with steel walls all around me. I sat up, my body feeling weak from whatever was in that dart and I glanced around. Bars of a cell door were in front of me as I was sitting on a cell bed that was more likely a flat piece of metal attached to the wall. Eggman then came into view, a disappointed look on his face while he had his hands behind his back.

"I'm very disappointed in you Metal, first you lock me up, and now you've joined sides with the one hedgehog you were designed to destroy?!" Eggman lectured me, like he always does if I came back on the verge of shutting down or do the opposite of what he orders me to do.

"That hedgehog's name is Sonic," I replied, my blood boiling in irritation at my so-called creator.

"So it was," Eggman replied, a large smirk curling behind his mustache before he brought out one of Sonic's shoes covered in blood. "I had thought that his only weakness was water, but caring about you like the fool he was helped me out even more." He inquired.

Shivers went up my spine at the sight in front of me, the air in my lungs feeling like it was sucked out of them for a second before I growled at Eggman angrily.

"You're lying, there's no way you defeated him," I said to Eggman.

"I'm showing you proof, am I?" Eggman questioned me.

This time the anger only spread and I sped towards the cell door, pounding on it while Eggman didn't even flinch.

"What did you do to him?!" I yelled, feeling my ears pinned on my head.

Eggman only stayed silent and dropped the shoe before he walked away without a word. I glanced down at the dirtied shoe, my knees feeling weak until I fell on them, pressing my head against the cell door while I felt my heart tightening on itself and I couldn't breathe right. Memories of the few days Sonic and I spent together started flooding my mind, my heart only hurting more while tears dripped from my eyes on the floor. I didn't want to believe that Eggman could've possibly defeated Sonic. But one of his shoes, now covered in blood, was sitting right in front of me. I didn't know what emotion I was feeling, but it honestly hurt to think about what happened while I was unconscious. And it was all my fault.

What felt like days passed and I was now sitting on the floor with my back against the wall and my knees against my chest. Every day that I've spent here was the same. Eggman coming occasionally to taunt me, Orbot trying to supposedly comfort me behind Eggman's back. But I didn't want comfort, not Orbot's at least. A part of me kept saying that Sonic's still alive, but I didn't know what to believe. I was too inexperienced in that fight and got knocked out not even a minute in, leaving Sonic to fight alone and go through whatever Eggman did to him.
