(Sonic's POV)

I groaned while waking up, my head was hurting and there was a slight ringing in my ears. I forced myself up on my feet, remembering Metal and I fighting against Eggman until he somehow knocked me out. I glanced to the side, seeing that Metal was gone including the robot he and I tried to defeat, which was now gone. The only thing that was left were these large footprints. I took off, following where the trail goes without caring about my sore body, finding Metal was my main priority right now. I continued running until I ended up in a forest and could see some red cube flying in my direction. I dodged the cube and halted, seeing someone familiar standing in front of me, staring at me with one yellow eye. It was that masked creep Infinite.

"Well, look what we have here, the masked creep," I said to him.

"Still as reckless as ever I see," Infinite replied. "Then again, he should've thought twice before joining you." He said to me.

Before I could ask what or who Infinite was talking about, I suddenly felt this pain on my waist as blood sprayed the grass, causing me to groan. I glanced over, my blood running cold when I saw Metal standing next to Infinite, only he was robotic again and had blood on his claws.

"Metal, what are you doing?" I questioned him.

Metal stayed silent and charged at me.  I dodged whatever attack he was trying to do and ran off, being followed by him. I don't know what the heck is going on, I did know one thing, that's not the Metal I know. It's probably just one of Infinite's dumb illusions of him, but if Eggman wasn't here, and I'm fighting Infinite and his illusion of Metal, who was the one that attacked Station Square? Before I could see it coming, Metal zipped by me, this pain in my shoulder having me halt in my tracks and wince. I glanced up to see Metal floating in front of me, my feelings suddenly twisting inside of my body.

"Cut out the stupid villain baloney Metal," I said to him.

Metal ignored me and flew in my direction. I charged at him, both of us zipping around the woods the same way we used to in our old battles. I missed some action, but this is my boyfriend that I'm fighting! I never would have imagined that I'd ever fight him like this again! Suddenly, I got punched in the stomach by Metal and fell to the ground. I groaned and struggled to stand up, only to be hit on the back of the head, and my vision immediately went black after that.

~Time skip~

I groaned, slowly gaining my consciousness back, and glanced around, seeing that I was in some dark room and felt this intense chill on my wrists. I looked over at where the chilliness was coming from, seeing that I was chained to the wall.

"You sure did want to take a long nap now, didn't you?"

I glanced over, seeing Infinite standing in front of me with his arms crossed, and that same look that he always gave me the last time he captured me was glued to his golden eye.

"How did you get Metal to go back to villainy?" I questioned that masked freak.

"What you saw was merely a nightmare, I'm not one to ally myself with others," Infinite replied. "Let alone trust anyone." He added.

"Then where is he?" I asked.

"Where is who?" Infinite replied, his mask making it impossible to tell if he was honestly confused or not.

"Metal!" I yelled, already losing my patience. "What did you do to him?" I demanded.

"He's not dead if that's what you're worried about," Infinite answered me. "At least not yet." He queried.

"Infinite, if you hurt one quill on his head-" my threat was interrupted when Infinite suddenly appeared less than a foot away from me, anger burning in his eye.
