(Sonic's POV)
I couldn't calm down my heart pounding against my chest after I admitted my feelings to Metal as I stayed underneath the covers, not hearing a word from him or even feeling him moving. The next thing I knew, the covers started to get pulled off of me. I immediately pulled them back on myself, refusing to come out of them.
"Sonic, what was that you just said?" Metal asked me.
I sighed, knowing that I wasn't gonna get out of this, and sat up while the covers fell off me. I glanced at Metal, becoming a nervous wreck from remembering what I did before I came up here in hopes that he wouldn't get curious as to why I did what I did.
"That I have feelings for you," I said, immediately preparing for Metal to either get mad or just take off.
"For how long?" Metal asked me.
"A while I guess," I replied, becoming more embarrassed by every word.
"Really." Metal replied. "I honestly thought you had a thing for Amy or someone else." He inquired.
"Amy's only like a sister to me, I've never romantically liked her," I explained.
"Any reason why it was me you chose?" Metal questioned curiously, his head tilting to the side a little.
I responded by shrugging my shoulders, not knowing why I started to get feelings for Metal either. To be honest, I never thought I'd have feelings for anyone after what happened between Sally and me. Metal smiled at me softly before he pulled me into a hug, his face pressed against my chest as I felt my heartbeat going haywire. I wasn't expecting him to react this way, but I accepted it and put my arms around Metal, earning him to start purring again.
"You're kinda cute when you purr like that, Mets." I chuckled.
Metal further pressed his face against my chest, his purring getting louder as I held him close, enjoying the feeling of his warm body against mine. I wasn't sure if this was Metal's way of saying that he has a thing for me too, but if it was, it was certainly a cute way to do it. Eventually, I lied down on the bed with Metal on top of me for a bit before he lied down next to me, his body shaking a bit like he was shivering due to how cold it was tonight.
"You alright?" I asked Metal just to be sure.
"It's just a bit chilly tonight." Metal replied.
I pulled the covers over us and lied down by Metal before pulling him close to me. Metal's cheeks had a tint of red on them, which made me smile and I pressed my forehead against him, the red on his face spreading a bit as he glanced away and his ears went down.
"Someone's already warmed up," I said to Metal jokingly.
"S-Shut up." Metal stuttered, having me chuckle in response as I scooted closer to him.
"It's true and you know it." I inquired.
"You and your jokes Sonic." Metal replied while rolling his eyes playfully.
"Yep, I'm the jokester out of the two of us while you're the one that responses cutely," I replied to him.
"Have you always been like this?" Metal asked me.
"Yeah," I answered him.
"I kinda figured, Eggman always complained about how bold you'd act even while fighting off his robots." Metal replied.
"One thing we can agree on is that it's hilarious when he gets annoyed," I said to him.
"As a robot, I always found it a bit annoying when he'd rage after you defeat him." Metal told me.
