(Months after that last night I spent at Sarah's place.)
I was in New York while doing a project where I was casted on a new television series.
It became much harder to contact her and for the rare times I was able to, our conversations became less and less and almost to nonexistent.
I knew something wasn't right.
It felt like she's becoming more distant to me.
When I had a break from the shooting for about three weeks. I took the flight back to see her.
I wanted to know why she's been acting strange.
I asked help from Sarah's friend to be able to meet her in a good spot without any distractions or people catching my attention.
She agree to get Sarah to go see a movie with her then we could meet at the parking area.
"I don't know why you are forcing me to go see a movie with you late at this hour." I heard her whine as she step out of the car.
I couldn't help but smile when I saw her.
"Actually.. I just kinda needed you here." Her friend mentioned feeling sort of guilty.
I walk towards them.
"Hey Sarah.. sorry, I ask your friend for some help to meet you." I said apologetically.
She connected her eyebrows in confusion.
"O?" She was in disbelief.
I nodded and smile at her.
"Aren't you suppose to be in New York?" She asked confused.
"Yeah, we're taking a break from filming." I replied while I stood in front of them.
"She asked for my help and I couldn't say no." her friend whisper to Sarah.
I glance at her friend feeling thankful for what she has done.
She then excuse herself and left me with Sarah.
"It's already late.." she said while we walk.
I was wearing a cap and a face mask to hide my face.
"Why didn't you just call me instead?" She asked a bit dryly.
Feels like she wasn't even excited to see me right now.
"Are we okay?" I finally asked her.
She averted her gaze to the other side away from me.
"Let's go talk inside your car instead." She said.
I nodded and lead her to my car.
"I can't help but notice that you've been acting strange lately. Our phone calls have been sort of strange. What's going on?" I asked confused.
She took a deep breath and nodded once or twice.
"I think we should break up."
I couldn't believe what I was hearing.
There was a long silence after that.
I felt my throat getting dry.
I gulp once before I started to talk.
"Wh- what?" I think I almost choke the word out.
I was so confused.
If she was joking, this wasn't funny.
Her attention was outside the window.
Her tone was nothing but serious.
"I think you're already aware of things. It's not working out. This whole long distance relationship is just not working. Let's stop.." she replied.
