Chapter 48: Take Me Now

I stood in the living room awkwardly.

I haven't been here for ages.

The last time I was here was a very unpleasant experience.

I glance at the couch where I caught my brother and Sarah kissing before.

I shook the thought out of my head.

"You said you wanted to talk.. so talk." She said while pouring herself another glass of drink.

She's been drinking expensive scotch.

"You've been drinking.." I mentioned.

She frowned for a second then back to her usual blank expression.

I'm beginning to think this was a bad idea. 

Maybe I shouldn't have come at this time of the day.

"Yes I am.. I've been having sleepless nights. Drinking is a good therapy." She replied laughing .

I think she's already drunk.

"You've been absent for six days. Are you okay?" I said.

She drink before she answered.

"I took a leave. I believe that's not the reason why you're here." She replied in a monotone voice.

I nodded.

"Yes but I think we should just talk in the morning when you are no longer drunk." I replied as I turn.

"I am not drunk, unlike for some who gets drunk after taking a few sip." She replied mockingly.

I know she was referring to me.

This was a terrible timing. I think we will end up fighting if I stayed longer.

"Can you just give me a call when you're sober?" I replied bringing my attention back to her.

"Why are you stalling? Didn't you come here to talk about our kiss?" She said frustratingly.

I close my eyes for a moment.

That's not what I came here for..

"No, not about that. The contract.." I replied.

She notice the envelop that I was holding.

"What about it?" She asked while drinking again.

"Just rest, we can talk about it tomorrow. Hopefully when you're not drinking." I replied before I took another step.

"You never called me.. after that night when we kiss." She mentioned.

Her voice cracked.

Why would she be upset. She did the same thing. I never heard from her.

"That makes two of us." I replied without turning.

"Only because I'm tired of.." She replied but then paused midway.

I heard her footsteps getting closer.
