💔 Lando Norris - I hope it was worth it

Today was the day. I would see my boyfriend again after he was away for almost three weeks. He was in Dubai for a training camp and I had to stay in London because of my studies.

It was late afternoon when I was waiting impatiently at the couch in Lando's house. I knew that his plane has already landed thirty minutes ago so he should be here any minute.

But I was also a little worried because his behaviour has changed the last couple of days and I had absolutely no clue why. Normally he called me daily and wrote me when something funny happened as he was there with his best friends Max and Connor. But then Lando stopped with the writing and just called me at night to say good night, that was it. I didn't have the chance to ask him if something happened as he was busy with racing and training.

Totally lost in my thoughts I almost missed the sound of keys turning in the lock. As soon as I registered what was happening I got up and sprinted to the door almost slipping with just my socks on. Lando appeared with his suitcases and I slung my arms around his neck immediately. At first he was surprised but he soon lifted me up in his arms and spun me around with a big smile in his face.

"Oh my good, you have no idea how much I missed you!" I said in his ear. "Oh yeah? I didn't notice but I also missed you babe." With that he let me down and kissed me and I completely forgot everything else.

After a few more kisses I asked him with a big smile "So tell me everything. How was it? What have you guys been up to?" "Oh you know, not much. Just some racing stuff." While saying this he didn't look my in the eyes instead he went to the fridge getting himself some water. "Okay, so do you want to do something or should we just cuddle and watch Netflix? Or maybe we could cook something together." I asked him. He answered my question with a mumbled "I am a little exhausted so I think I will just take a quick shower and then go to bed." and went upstairs. All I could do was sit completely confused in the living room and think about all possible scenarios why he was acting so weird.

I decided to just ask him and went upstairs into his bedroom. While he was still in the shower I got changed in one of his hoodies and leggings for the night. When he came out of the bathroom he was on his phone completely ignoring my presence like I was not even in the room. So this was the moment, now or never, so I spoke up "Hey, I wondered if you are okay? You just seem so distance since you are back. Did something happen in Dubai?". He almost jumped at my voice and looked at me with I don't know, maybe shock "What? No, of course I am okay. As I already said I am just really tired and want to sleep.". With that the conversation was over for him. He went under the covers, gave me a quick peck on the lips, turned to the other side so his back was facing me and turned the lights out. And I knew that today I wouldn't get any information from Lando.

The whole night I couldn't sleep and was just thinking what could be the reason for his distanced behaviour. When it was 5 am I decided to get up and take a hot shower to ease my nerves. Just then I noticed that I completely forgot my phone at home which meant I couldn't listen to music while showering. Unacceptable! So I took Lando's phone knowing he wouldn't mind because I have used his phone before and we didn't have any secrets from each other. I tip toed as quiet as possible to the bathroom, unlocking his phone.

Just then I saw that he had two new messages, one from his best friend Max and the other from Alicia. The message from the girl caught my eye immediately as there was a red heart at the end. I knew that I shouldn't read it and I felt guilty but I couldn't resist as I immediately thought the worst. So I opened both, the first from Max saying "Hey, did you already tell her about you know... How did she react?" leaving me confused with what he meant but as soon as I read the second message it all made sense. It said "Thank you for the perfect night in Dubai. I had a lot of fun and know you had fun too. ;) I hope we can do that again anytime soon.💖"

I couldn't believe what I read and wanted the truth right now. With tears in my eyes I stormed into the bedroom, shaking Lando roughly so he would wake up. "What the fuck? Did something happen, what time is it?" he asked sleepily and opened his eyes slowly. I tried to stay as calm as possibly and said "Oh, you tell me if something happened? And just for your information I think Max and Alicia are waiting for your reply.". He widened his eyes and I could see the panic and guilt in his gaze. With that I knew that my fear was correct and I understood why he was so distant this whole time. He was afraid of me finding out that he cheated. Lando stood up, coming my way and wanted to take my hand in his. I stumbled backwards to put as much distance between us as possible. He looked at me pleadingly and said "Please, I can explain, just listen to me baby, I-" but I interrupted him "Don't you dare call me baby!". "Please just listen for one moment. I... it didn't mean anything! The boys and I went out to have a boys night out and they persuaded me to drink alcohol and you know that I normally don't drink, so I was completely wasted by the end of the night. And... I don't know it just happened. I... It didn't mean anything! I love you!". I rolled my eyes and laughed bitterly "So that's your excuse, you were drunk and have no idea how it happened? Lando, you slept with another girl while I was at home waiting for you to come home. God, I am so dumb!"

I walked out of the room as fast as I could. All I wanted to do was leave this house, see my family and cry my eyes out. I heard his steps behind me and knew that he was catching up pretty fast. Lando got a hold of my wrist, turning me around to face him. I could see that his eyes were as red as mine, tears running down his cheeks "Please, don't leave me. I don't want to loose you. I know we can make this work, get past this!". But I knew better "No Lando, I don't leave you, you left me when you slept with this girl. I hope it was worth it!". And I left.
