Schlafwandler (noun. german)

A person with a certain condition that moves the body while being asleep.

Sleepwalker.

I did as Sarah said, even though the whole atmosphere in the VIP section didn't really do much to make me feel comfortable.
But what was I supposed to do?
Now that I was already here I couldn't just walk out again. I mean, how awkward would that be?

"So, what was your name again?", Sarah asked as she sat down in the booth she had picked and gestured for me to move closer to her.

"Gerard. It's... it's Gerard.", I repeated but didn't move over to her. I felt perfectly fine with the distance between us.

Now I wasn't as stupid as some people think I am.
Of course I knew what Sarah was doing here and given the fact that I had been alone for quite some time, a few more drinks could easily get her what she desired.
I wasn't feeling any attraction towards her but that could change over the span of the evening.
Like I said: a few more drinks could do the deed.

I have never found women exceptionally attractive before. Of course, being a bisexual man, I had felt lust towards women but for some reason I had always liked men more.
But Sarah was already here and made it very clear that she was interested, so if I were to do so, i could just as well go home with her tonight.
Maybe even just to remind myself of how great a human body pressed against mine felt like.

"Gerard, right!", she said and I was pretty sure that she had already forgotten my name again.
She took her Cosmopolitan and sipped on it while I sceptically eyed my drink.
She must have seen the look on my face and said:
"It's a Seaside special. Nobody really knows what goes in there except for the barkeepers, but let me tell you that everybody I've ever met loves it. If you're new here, this is the first thing to try."
She put a finger on the side of my glass and pushed it closer to me. When she took her finger away, it was wet from the condensation.
She looked me dead in the eyes before putting her finger in her mouth and sucking on it suggestively.

Still I didn't feel anything.
But then again I was only two shots in.

I tried to give her a smile that didn't show how awkward I felt and quickly took a sip from the seaside special.
Even though I had already had two shots, the red cocktail burned in my throat and put tears in my eyes as I coughed.
Damn... what the hell was in this drink?

Sarah laughed when she saw how I reacted to the cocktail.
"Its pretty strong, right?"

"That's one way to put it.", I said while still coughing. But just like with the shots, the second sip was way better than the first.
And once I had emptied half the glass I couldn't even taste the alcohol anymore.

When a server came by our booth I ordered another Seaside special while Sarah hadn't even finished her drink yet.

It took two more specials for me to get tipsy.
Okay, maybe I was a little more than tipsy but I definitely wasn't drunk yet.
And it wasn't even my fault because even though I always declined her offers, Sarah kept ordering drinks for me.
And it would be rude not to drink them, right?

I had also lost track of time. I didn't know if I had been here for an hour or four but judging by the empty glasses piled on top of each other, a lot of time had passed.
I didn't mind though. For me, everything was perfect the way it was for now. I felt warm and fuzzy and had reached the point where I had forgotten about Mikey and his friends. They were probably fine on their own.
