"that was our place, i found it first"

-----

"So you're coming to our party after the Gryffindor team wins, right?" a dark-haired boy asked mischievously. His back was resting on the branch of a tree, his legs separating and hanging off both sides. He wore a light chiffon shirt and black slacks, half of his uniform on.

His red and golden striped tie was hanging loosely around his neck, not tied properly and almost falling off of him. He had long black locks and a smirk dancing upon his thin lips. He was ravishingly handsome for his age, only being thirteen and all.

"You mean, you're coming to my party after the Slytherin team wins," the blonde determined. Her bare feet were planted on the same branch as the one her best friend laid on, but her back was leaning against the trunk of the tree. They were both around fifteen feet off the ground.

She had nice, long blonde hair and bright blue eyes, traits that every girl seemed to want these days. She was shorter than her best friend, standing at 5'2" while he was 5'9".

"I'd never be caught dead in the Slytherin common room. You know that, Avalon," the dark-haired boy scoffed. "And besides, with me and James on the team this year, we're sure to have a win."

"Not while me and Reggie are on the Slytherin team-"

"LA LA LA LA!" he shouted, covering his ears. "I CAN'T HEAR YOU! YOU SEEMED TO HAVE JUST SAID A SLUR AND I CAN NO LONGER HEAR YOUR IDIOTIC WORDS-"

"Shut it, Sirius," Avalon laughed. Sirius' hands fell back to his sides and he grinned. "Whether you like it or not, Regulus is your brother and he's a very good Seeker."

"Still don't like him," Sirius retorted. "He pretends I'm not home when I am, he doesn't try to defend me in front of Mother and Father, and he works with the lot of those blood supremacists. Say, Av, if I didn't save you when you were walking to that Slytherin compartment, you probably would've been one of em too."

"Ah, how could I forget? My savior!" Avalon exclaimed with fake enthusiasm. "Now, I'm a blood traitor just like you and that is so much better than conforming to society."

"Oh stop it," Sirius said, flicking his hand with his wrist. "You flatter me. My favorite blood traitor."

A young girl dragged her luggage, both of her hands on the thick strap. Her mother had forced her to bring her most expensive luggage to tell the rest of the lower beings that she was not like them. Unfortunately for her, her most expensive luggage was the heaviest.

People, a little older than her, kept pushing past the blonde girl and they kept knocking her luggage down by accident.

"Wouldn't go that way if I were you," a young boy, around the same age as her, commented. He pointed over his shoulder, towards the Slytherin compartments. "It's full of snots and snobs."

"Thanks for the advice, but I'm supposed to go there," she smiled politely. The blonde held up her luggage a bit, lifting it off the ground. "Class A snob coming through."

He laughed.

"I'm supposed to be going there too," he grinned. The boy with short raven hair stuck out his hand. "Sirius Black."

The blonde put her luggage down for a second to shake his hand. "Avalon Rosier."

"Ah, Rosier," Sirius nodded. "Mother's warned me about you lot. Pureblood but on the verge of blood traitor."

"My mother's warned me about you too," Avalon said. "Stay close to the Blacks, reputation is on the line."

"I've got to inform you, I'm probably not the Black that your mother was referring to," Sirius said, leaning closer as if he were telling a secret. "If you're going to befriend a Black, I'd suggest my cousins, Narcissa or Andromeda. Unless you want to wait for next year, when Regulus comes along. I'm not exactly the perfect one in the household."

"Today must be your lucky day then because I'm no perfect child either," Avalon shot back, causing Sirius to grin.

"You can stay with me," Sirius decided aloud, announcing something rather than asking. "We need to find a compartment first. One very, very far away from the evil Slytherin prats."

He gently removed her hands from her luggage before grabbing the luggage himself and lugging it in the direction that Avalon came from. Avalon could do nothing but follow.

"Aw, not your favorite in general?" Avalon mocked. "At least I beat your friend, Potter, in the subject."

"He doesn't count," Sirius huffed. "James is a proud blood traitor. You're a secret blood traitor."

"Same thing," she shrugged. Sirius brought his leg up and knocked his feet with Avalon's, causing her to slip and fall. Avalon fell onto the hard ground, the white dandelions cushioning her fall.

"You are such a fucker," Avalon scoffed.

"I do it every time and every time, you still don't see it coming," Sirius laughed, rolling himself over. He fell onto the ground, faceplanting. The stray dandelions around Sirius flew into the air and one hit Avalon in the face.

"Come on, we've got to go," she urged. "It's time for Slytherin to kick your Gryffindor arse."

"Doubt that'd ever happen," Sirius said. He rolled his eyes as he got to his feet and Avalon picked up two dandelions out of the entire field, passing one to him. "Do we have to do this every time?"

"Every time you knock me down is a time when we blow on dandelions," Avalon determined aloud. "You go first." Sirius closed his eyes and held the dandelion up to his face. "Remember to make a wish."

"I got it," he scowled. "You sound like my mother."

"I'm offended that you'd compare me to her," Avalon said, putting her hand over her heart in fake hurt. Sirius' dark eyebrows furrowed and his lips quirked to the side as he thought of a wish.

"Okay, I've got one," Sirius mumbled. He turned away from Avalon and blew on the dandelion, the white parts flying in that direction and being carried by the soft breeze. His grey eyes fluttered open again and he turned to Avalon expectantly.

Avalon walked over so he was standing beside him and she copied his stance. She held a dandelion up to her mouth and shut her eyes, lightly blowing on them.

Sirius noticed that not all of the white seeds had flown off and he hurriedly blew on them before Avalon could open her eyes. Avalon opened her eyes and stared at her flower in satisfaction.

"You know what they say," she said.

"If the seeds are gone in one blow, the wish has been taken into consideration," Sirius finished. "When are you going to stop praising the dandelion gods?"

"Never. Not when one of my wishes have come true," Avalon said confidently. "That time in first year when I got pancakes for breakfast. Remember?"

"That was in first year, Av," Sirius sighed. "Your dream might not come true. It's probably just a coincidence."

"Everything happens for a reason, Sirius," Avalon stated. "It's just a matter of when."

Sirius raised his eyebrows.

"You realize you sound insane, right?" he asked.

"It won't be so insane when it comes true," Avalon bragged, walking off. Sirius ran over to the trunk of the large tree by the dandelion field and he quickly put on his slides before picking up Avalon's sandals and running down the forest path after her.

"You can't keep leaving your shoes for the elves to find," Sirius scowled. "They're not coming this deep into the forest to be freed."

"See? My wish came true," she smiled. Sirius dropped the sandals in front of her and Avalon stopped to put them on.

"What was your wish?"

"You were going to give my sandals back to me," Avalon shrugged.

"That's a prediction, not a wish," Sirius insisted. "I get your shoes every time. It doesn't count-"

"The dandelion wishes are real because the dandelion goddesses bring them to life," she stated, starting to skip down the trail. "Accept it, Sirius."

"No, it's not real!" he exclaimed hotly as he chased Avalon down the path.

"It is!"

"It's not!"
