"strawberry ice cream, one spoon for two"

-----

"It was a joke. I was trying to piss you off," Avalon insisted. "I didn't mean-"

"But you did, didn't you?" Sirius scoffed dramatically. "You did mean to do it and you did piss me off, so now, I've got to rep your horrible decisions."

Sirius continued to strut through the halls of Hogwarts in Avalon's Quidditch jacket, playfully winking at the Slytherins who were absolutely disgusted that a blood traitor would be wearing their colors.

"And besides, it's mine now. I've decided to keep it," he shrugged. "You've got my jacket and green is my color. I look even more fit than usual in this jacket."

"That's because it's a tight jacket, not because green is your color," Avalon pointed out. "What happened to 'I'm so hungover- Av, please take care of me'? Where did all of that tiredness and nausea go?"

"Right out the window when you brought me my faaavorite jacket," Sirius said smugly.

"We get it. Green is your color-"

"That's not why it's my favorite jacket," he opposed with a crazed grin. Sirius looked at Avalon, who had no other guesses. "It's my favorite because it's yours."

Avalon blinked. Sirius faced forward again and he walked faster so it was harder for Avalon to keep up.

"That couldn't possibly make any sense," the blonde huffed. "Do you just find joy in stealing my things?"

"You gave it to me. I didn't steal anything," Sirius shrugged. "I just simply took up a past offer. And yes, I find tons of joy in stealing your things. Especially when they smell like flowers." He lifted up the collar of the jacket and he sniffed it heavily, knowing that Avalon would gag.

"You didn't even know if I washed that!" Avalon shrieked. "Do you not think about the amount of germs that could be on that collar?"

"Yes, and knowing you, there's little to none," Sirius smirked. "You've probably cleaned it before you came to my dorm, which means that it's very clean."

"That was a weird yet very true statement," she noted.

"What can I say? I know my enemies well," he shrugged. "My class is that room. I can meet you in the dandelion field tonight. Ice cream?"

"Sure," Avalon agreed. She'd hoped that one of these days, when he asked her to meet up or to hang out, it would actually be as a date instead of just friends. But Sirius didn't know her hopes, so she didn't expect much.

"What time?" she asked. Sirius paused for a moment to think.

"Be there by nine," he decided aloud.

"'Kay. I'll see you then," said Avalon.

"Back at you," Sirius replied before falling in line with the other Marauders, who were waiting by the entrance of the classroom.

Avalon slowly walked down the path to the dandelion field. She'd found the dandelion field in the beginning of second year and now, her and Sirius met there all the time to talk without worrying about other people watching.

The leaves from the fall had cleared, since it was spring now, and Avalon reached the clearing. There was a big old tree surrounded by white dandelions. The wind blew on Avalon lightly, swishing around the hem of her dress.

She didn't see Sirius around but there were two objects, around the same size, set down near the tree. Avalon hesitantly pulled her wand out and walked towards the objects. There were two ice cream cartons on the ground, both strawberry, and one of them was laying sideways on the ground.

The other carton was upright and there was a yellow sticky note. Avalon looked down at it, her blue eyes narrowing.

Look up.

Avalon's head tilted upwards and a large object dropped down, tackling her to the ground. Avalon let out a terrified scream, which was quickly muffled by the sound of loud bark-like laughs.

"Oh, you should've seen your face!" Sirius howled in laughter. "You were so scared!" Avalon rolled her eyes and smiled.

"You're a jerk for that. Get off," she urged, feigning annoyance. Sirius managed to subside his laughs and he rolled over so they were both lying on the ground.

"That was too good," Sirius exclaimed. He quickly got to his feet and held a hand out to Avalon, which she accepted. Once they were both standing again, Sirius went over to the pints of ice cream and held both up for her to see.

"Okay. We've got strawberry and... strawberry," he announced. "Take your pick, princess."

"Princess," Avalon repeated. "That's new."

"Yeah, I know, I'm awesome and smart and clever for coming up with that," Sirius bragged. "It's because you're the princess Chaser of the Slytherin team. No need to flatter me too much. Even though I'm awesome. Pick one."

"Hmm," she hummed, putting her finger on her chin. "I think... I'm going to have to go with strawberry."

"Ah, smart choice," Sirius joked, handing her one of the cartons. Avalon and Sirius sat on the ground next to each other with their backs to the large tree. Avalon held her hand out expectantly.

"Spoon me."

"If you insist," Sirius said, putting his pint down and moving closer to his best friend.

"Not what I meant," Avalon scoffed carelessly. She blushed furiously and was so grateful that it was dark out. "Spoon please."

"You know, you are giving me very mixed signals right now-"

"The utensil, Sirius. The utensil for my ice cream," Avalon clarified.

"Pff- duh, I totally- I totally knew that," Sirius nodded. "I was just... joking." He pulled out a napkin-covered spoon from his pocket and he unraveled the napkin before handing it to Avalon.

Avalon popped off the cover of her ice cream and she began to dig at the ice cream with her spoon.

"Wait, don't eat yet," Sirius scowled. "I wanna race." Avalon rolled her eyes dramatically as Sirius dug his hands into his pockets once again. He frowned. "There's no other spoon. I must've dropped it on the way or something. Could've sworn I had two though."

"It's okay. You can just have my spoon," she offered.

"How would we race then?" he questioned.

"We don't have to race," Avalon shrugged. "I mean, it's still Quidditch season and I want to stay in shape. So, here. You can have the spoon." She took the spoon out of her pint and handed it to Sirius.

"Nice try," Sirius said, narrowing his eyes at Avalon. "You just want to get me fat so Gryffindor will lose the next match. I'm not stupid." He leaned more into the tree as he crossed his arms. "Enjoy your ice cream, Av. While you still can."

"Sirius, you are being so dramatic right now. Just take the spoon," Avalon replied. "Strawberry ice cream is your favorite, not mine, so it'd be a shame if you didn't eat this."

"Sorry, I'm a germaphobe," he lied.

"Yeah, a real germaphobe when you took a large whiff of my jacket collar this morning," she said. Sirius didn't budge, causing Avalon to roll her eyes. "Okay, here's a compromise. We can alternate."

Sirius stared at her, dumbfounded.

"We can switch each time we-"

"Ohhhh. Yeah- pff- I knew that," Sirius remarked. "Of course I know what alternate means. I'm not stupid." He scooted back over to her and gingerly took the spoon. He ate a bite of ice cream and then handed it back to her. "You're not sick or anything, right?"

"Would you care if I was?" Avalon shot back.

"Not really, no," he shrugged.

"Okay then."
