"i bet that she knows billy joel"

Avalon popped a red jelly slug into her mouth and chewed around for a few seconds before swallowing. Believe it or not, but it was very easy to choke on jelly slugs because they can just slip right down a throat. They don't usually get lodged though.
Avalon was walking down the aisles of a bookstore, with Sirius trailing behind like a child that's being starved. Sirius dramatically had his fingers tracing against the spines of every book on the long shelf, acting as some kind of prisoner.
"Why are we here?" he whined, flipping himself over. Sirius leaned his back against a bookcase and collapsed, as if Avalon would actually take pity on him. "This is a bookstore! We're at Hogsmeade and you chose to go to a bookstore!"
"You are being so difficult right now," Avalon stated. She picked out a new copy of Pride and Prejudice, and she skimmed through the new pages. "Do you think I should get another copy?"
"You're already got one," Sirius pointed out. "Why do you need another one? Not to mention, you've read that crappy book a bazillion gagillion times."
"Because," Avalon huffed, "mine has all the little annotations and doodles. I can hardly even read my own handwriting, and even if I can, I'm writing over the actual words. It's practically illegible."
"You don't need another copy. We don't need it," he clarified, grabbing the book out of Avalon's hands. Sirius put the book back on its original place in the bookshelf. "I'm hungry and there's no more jelly slugs."
"Well, I asked you if you wanted the last one."
"Well, I lied," Sirius grumbled. "I did want it."
"That's too bad because it's already eaten," Avalon said, turning back to the bookshelf. Sirius groaned and threw his head back in frustration.
"I'm hungry," Sirius repeated. "Can we go eat now? Like actual food?" Avalon glared at Sirius and he pouted his bottom lip out. Sirius pleaded her with his puppy dog eyes.
"Fine."
Sirius grinned widely and linked their arms, quickly dragging her out of the small bookstore. He not so politely pushed past other people until they reached a nice cafe with striped awning.
"Madam Puddifoots?" Avalon asked. "Isn't that where people go for dates?"
"You want to know why people go there?" Sirius remarked. "It's because the food is said to be fucking delicious and I'll be damned if I never get to go in there, so we're going in." He opened the door and entered first, making sure to bring Avalon along with him.
They were seated at a small table, sitting across from each other. "I've heard they've got french toast," Sirius exclaimed in a hushed voice, "with cheese on top."
"Why would anyone want to eat that?"
"Why would anyone not want to eat that?"
"Fair enough," Avalon shrugged. They both picked up their menus and looked them over. Avalon did in fact see an option for french toast with provolone cheese on top.
The waitress came around to their table and Avalon put her menu down. "I'm Bethany, your waitress for today. Can I get you started on drinks?"
"Two black coffees, please," Sirius said.

"I like this song," Sirius noted. He stopped cutting his cheesy french toast for a minute and lightly bopped his head to the slow music. "Do you know what song this is?"
