"and trading jackets, laughing about how small it looks on you"

-----

"Glad you could- woah, what're you wearing?" Sirius gaped, his expression changing from overly happy to pure disgust.

"My Quidditch jacket," Avalon said giddily. The sleeves were a bit longer than usual, as was the entire jacket, causing her hands to be covered by the emerald green sleeves. "Do you like it?"

"Sure, whatever," Sirius said, putting his plastic cup onto a nearby table. He quickly grabbed Avalon by the sleeve and began to drag her in the direction of the boys dormitories.

"Sirius, what're you doing?" she asked. "You're going to mess up my new jacket-"

"Hurry up," he urged. Sirius continued to drag her, using the other hand to cover his face. "You can't be wearing that stuff here, especially in Gryffindor territory."

"But I like it," Avalon opposed as Sirius pushed her into his dorm and slammed the door behind him.

"Av, it's like when my mum always had my hair short so I never knew what it looked like long, so I said I liked it," Sirius stated blankly. His hair was much longer than it was in first year. Now, it was wild yet well-combed and it freely flopped on his head.

"Is it that bad?" Avalon questioned, shuddering at the thought of Sirius with short hair. He always looked good with any hairstyle, wearing anything, but short hair was not the best for him.

"It's not that bad," he winced. "I mean, I like it on you- green's your color, but you can't be wearing that stuff here."

"But I like it," the blonde insisted. "It's comfortable and I look good in it. At least I think so."

"If you like it so much, then you can just wear mine," Sirius offered. "It's probably only a size bigger and it's the same material." He walked over to his hanger and plucked off the crimson red jacket before tossing it to her.

Avalon caught it easily. She slipped off her jacket and laid it on Sirius' bed while putting on his jacket. Avalon walked over to the full-sized mirror and fixed the jacket a bit so it looked a bit better on her.

"I like this much more," she noted. "Material's more comfortable. No doubt they paid more for Gryffindor's uniforms. Red's definitely my color, not green. I should've definitely been Gryffindor."

"Gryffindor's about bravery and chivalry," Sirius pointed out in a matter-of-fact tone. "It's about the traits, not just about the colors. There's a reason for why you were put in Slytherin."

"Yet there are no reasons for why you're in Gryffindor," Avalon scoffed. "Gryffindor's about bravery and chivalry, my arse. I bet you two Galleons that Dumbledore's rigged the Sorting Hat since our parents have paid extra, but he's also rigged it so he's gotten his prized students in Gryffindor."

"Fair enough," Sirius shrugged. He stood behind Avalon and watched both of them in the mirror. "You look better in my jacket."

"Of course I do," she bragged. "I look good in everything, especially this jacket."

"You're such a cocky fucker," Sirius laughed, bringing a smile to Avalon's face. "You can keep the jacket."

"What?" Avalon asked, as if she hadn't heard that right.

"You heard me," he replied.

"I don't want to take your jacket," Avalon stated. "I'll just borrow it for tonight and then I'll give it back."

"You said it yourself. It looks better on you," Sirius assured. "Keep it."

"I'm not taking anything from you," the blonde said, still looking at herself in the mirror. "I like this better though. I'll trade."
