(A/N : These few chapters take place before everything so everyone is younger and ships like Unicorn and most destroyers are either newborns or not born at all.)
Kaga POV
Me and my sister Akagi are currently enjoying a meal before we head off to bed, we have a long day ahead of us as we will be having to patrol for most of the day tomorrow along with a few others. We need to have are strength up in case of an attack by the sirens.
Akagi : What an exquisite meal, wouldn't you say sister.
Me : Yes it has been a nice supper, I shall do the dishes tonight.
Akagi : You shouldn't bother, I shall clean them tonight.
Me : As you wish.
I was about to get up and clear the table, as one clears the table and the other cleans, when Akagi spoke up.
Akagi : You need not to start right now, I was hoping we could go for a walk along the beach before we head off to sleep.
Me : Only if we get these dishes cleared up beforehand, I would like to be able to sleep right after rather than to bother with unwashed plates.
Akagi : Of course.
I continue to collect the plates and cutlery for Akagi to wash, while she starts the cleaning I decide to prepare for the walk as I would rather be able to head off sooner than later for the patrol tomorrow morning.
Akagi : Shall we start.
Me : Yes, lets
*Small timeskip*
As we start to head back to our house, Akagi strikes up a conversation.
Akagi : Dear sister?
Me : Yes sister.
Akagi : I was just wondering what your thoughts on the future would hold for us, what do you think?
Me : I have no idea?
Akagi : Perhaps a younger sibling, or maybe a daughter.
Me : I would say that a sibling would make much more sense than a daughter.
Akagi : You never know what the future holds ahead of us.
Me : I suppose your right.
*Small timeskip*
We were about to take a turn to our home before we heard a noise, the noise of a child...crying.
Me : It sounds like an infant crying.
Akagi : Indeed it does, we should find the source of the noise before we go home.
Me : Right.
As we search for the noise, we soon realise its towards the ocean, eventually we end up in a small cavern of sorts, and in there we see a basket, floating in a small pool
Akagi : This must be it.
We approach the basket and notice a small note on the cloth covering whatever is inside the basket.
Me : Allow me to read it
The note read:
"Dear whoever this basket has sailed to,
I must ask you to take care of my child, I do not have the necessary resources or equipment to take care of them. Please give them a good life and treat him as your own flesh and blood. I can only hope that you will treat them well.
Sincerely, the mother of the child"
So this child has come from a not so wealthy background, but the mother has used "them" instead of anything else. I wonder why.
