Chapter 8 : New Friends, A Fight, and Everything Nice

(Y/N) POV

It's been a week since the Royal Navy did a undercover operation and now they're cracking down harder on security, we've also alerted Ironblood so that a repeat doesn't happen at there HQ. Me and Z23 along with Akagi, Kaga, Takao and Shiranui are on our way to intercept an Eagle Union convoy that was spotted in the area. We would've had Ayanami with us instead of Shiranui, but she's been missing for a while now, I just hope that she's safe.

Kaga : We should have them on our radars in a few minutes, be prepared for combat everyone.

Everyone follows and I just make sure my rifle and SMG are ready for the battle. I also clean my katana, just to be sure.

Takao : You sure do seem to like cleaning that katana, Kaiju. Even if it's clean most of the time.

I look at Takao.

Me : "It's just a way to pass the time, I had nothing else to do after getting my guns ready".

Takao : Alright then.

I look over at Z23 to see how she's doing but I don't see her preparing anything, she may have finished if it wasn't the fact I saw something in her expression. She looked... jealous? I don't know if it was but I decided to bring up the fact that she might not be battle ready. I was about to start writing until Akagi called out.

Akagi : Ah, I see the enemy on my radar, make sure your ready everyone.

Dammmit I didn't do it in time. Oh well, I trust her that she'll be ok on the battlefield.

Cleveland POV

It was a bright sunny day with barely a cloud in sight, the sound of the waves and seabirds filling the sky. It was nice to just slow down and take in the scenery from time to time. I was on a journey to the Royal Navy HQ since they said they wanted to discuss something. It was about a new Sakura ship and some weird black cube or something like that. With me were my sisters. Montpelier, Denver and Columbia. Along with us were Yorktown and Hornet, Enterprise's sisters.

(A/N I know you can't have more than three ships in the vanguard/main fleet. But let's be honest, who cares)

Me : So how much longer till we get to HQ, the scenery is nice but its getting pretty repetitive.

Yorktown : It'll still be a while until we get to the Royal Navy HQ. If I may ask, what was it they wanted with us again?

Me : Eh, something about a black wisdom cube and a new Sakura ship they got some stuff on. Apparently she's a bit of an oddball.

Montpelier : And what do you mean by 'oddball'.

Me : Apparently she doesn't talk to 'people she doesn't trust' and uses a notepad to talk to others.

Denver : Yeah, I also heard she's quite close to that Kaga girl. She sees her as a mother.

Hornet : Well then, this new ship probably isn't the biggest fan of are sis, will she Yorktown.

Yorktown : Talking about Enterprise, shouldn't her group be with us by now.

Columbia : Yeah, she is running a little late isn't she.

*beep* *beep* *beep*

I look at my sonar to see six enemy ships heading towards us and relatively fast.

Me : Ah shoot, we've got company.

Hornet : Alright, lets do this girls.

Everyone except Hornet : Hai!

Z23 POV

I was still a little jealous on how Takao was getting close to (Y/N), I don't know why but I just didn't like it. I was just then I realize I wasn't ready for a fight. I had no time either since I could see the convoy in the distance.
