Chapter 9 : Time Out

Kaga POV

Ever since we couldn't find Z23 at the battlefield, (Y/N) has gotten a lot more quieter around us and doesn't go out to do 'pointless things' as he calls them anymore. At least he kept up his facade of being a girl in public. As his mother I'm just worried about him and I want to do anything in my power to get him back to how he was before. I wonder if he took off his mask in front of Z23 after the incident. Now that I think about it, I don't think he has. I was preparing breakfast for everyone today, It was my turn after all. I was just finishing before I heard someone coming down the stairs.

*thump* *thump* *thump* *thump*

Me : Good morning (Y/N), did you have a good sleep?

(Y/N) : Yeah.

Me : Well that's good, breakfast will be done soon so why don't you go sit at the table while I finish things up.

(Y/N) : Ok.

(Y/N) POV

I had just finished cleaning the dishes after everyone had finished their food. I was about to go back to my room to read some of the books I hadn't managed to get to yet but I was stopped by my mom, Kaga.

Kaga : Hold on (Y/N), where are you going now.

Me : My room to read.

Kaga : I see. Me and Akagi were going out to go for a walk while we went shopping, if you had nothing else you needed to do then I would like you to come along as well.

Me : Alright.

I go back up to my room to get ready for the walk. I put on my jacket, put on my gloves, then my hat and mask, then my trousers and boots, I then also grabbed some extra money incase I saw something that I wanted to buy. I then went downstairs to wait for Akagi and Kaga, after a few minutes they were all ready.

Akagi : Are we all ready then.

Kaga : Yes, I'm ready to go.

Me : Mmm.

Akagi : Ok then, lets get going then.

I put on my mask before leaving the house with Akagi and Kaga. We head down to the shop (formally owned by Akashi) and meet Takao and Atago there. Then they do what they usually do when they meet friends at a store, talking for hours on end while boring the hell out on me.

Atago : So I heard that your friend had been sunk, Kaiju. I'm sorry for that but I'm sure you'll find someone like her.

I grunt in response. 

Atago : Still not over it that much are you, that's fine. Aside from that, anything new Akagi, Kaga?

Akagi : Not much, it does seem though that the Eagle Union are getting a more involved around our territory. We'll probably have to do something about them eventually, or else their influence might get too out of hand for us to deal with.

Takao : Hopefully we'll finally get rid off the Grey Ghost, right girls?

Kaga : Oh please don't mention her, the mere mention of her name irritates me. Plus she was in the group that got Z23 sunk.

Takao : I know, I know.

Akagi : Anyway, we get going, see you next time.

Atago/Takao : Bye!

We were just finishing our shopping around the island. We decided to take the long way round since we hadn't got much to do that day, we had been out for most of the day so it was starting to get dark. We were about to leave before Kaga pointed out something from my childhood.
