I had just arrived at the meeting hall as the Commander asked, but I was still waiting for the others that are meant to be attending the meeting. I lean against the wall and just take in the surroundings for a while, watching everyone else go on with their day. The sounds of the birds chirping and flying about, as well as the younger girls running about and playing. I smile under my mask, It's been a while since I just relaxed and looked around.
Me : *mutters* What's taking the girls so long.
I look up at the clock.
Me : *mutters* Oh, I'm early.

I end up waiting a little longer after that and hear the distinct sound of approaching footsteps. I turn to look at what was causing the noise to see Akagi, Kaga, Hiryu and Soryu. They then start up a conversation while waiting to see if anyone else was called, when they all agree that no one else is meant to be with them, we all enter the main lobby.
Soryu : Ok then, is that everyone then?
Hiryu : Think so. So what does everyone think this is about.
Kaga : It'll just be another mission.
I stay silent throughout this exchange and don't contribute anything to the conversation, I just watch as Akagi, Hiryu and Soryu go on about what they think the meeting is about. Kaga decides to just sit with me instead.
Kaga : So, do you the meeting is about a mission too or do you think its about something else.
Me : "Just another mission, nothing too special".
Kaga : I see
Just then, the doors swing open for us to see S.E Commander holding a door open with one of her hands, and with the other beckons us inside the hall.
S.E Commander : Ah, good to see you all here. Please, come in, we have a lot we need to discuss right now.
We all get up from our seats in the lobby and enter into a large hall with a table in the middle. In the middle of the table has one of those things where you use sticks to push little pieces around to make strategies. To the left wall there was a big picture of the globe and different thumbtacks with string connecting them to show a sort of order that different tasks need to be done in. The rest of the room was decorated with paintings, bookshelves, desks, potted plants and a globe.
S.E Commander : Alright then, lets get down to business. As you all may have figured out, I have gathered you all here to discuss an upcoming mission that you five will be the main spearhead of.
Soryu : If you don't mind me asking commander, why would you want four aircraft carriers and the best ship ever built on this mission, it seems to me that the risk is too great for it to be worth the reward. so again, why us, Commander?
S.E Commander : I thought one of you would ask that. The reason you five are going to take part, is because this mission could decide the war. And I certainly don't want to pull any punches if that's the case.
Hiryu : What do you mean it could decide the war.
S.E Commander : As you know, the Eagle Union has had increased activity around our borders and I want you five to cease it at once. If this plan is successful then that means little to no Eagle Union activity in our waters until later in the war. If we are successful in doing this, the entirety of the Crimson Axis can focus their sights on the last main threat, being the Royal Navy.
Akagi : fu~fu~ I suppose you wouldn't mind telling us the location of where such a feat shall be held.
S.E Commander : Of course. The target of our assault will be the Eagle Union held island of Midway Atoll *points on center map*. This island is crucial to those at Eagle Union because this island is their main base of operations near our borders where their ships can dock, refuel etc.
Kaga : How big of a force are we expecting to go up against.
S.E Commander : I can't say for certain what you'll be going up against, but I can almost guarantee that you'll all encounter the three Yorktown sisters. Yorktown, Enterprise and Hornet.
Everyone was silent, my fists were began shaking a little from the mere mention of Enterprise's name.
Hiryu : So not only will we most likely win the war, but we'll finally sink the Grey Ghost that's been giving us nothing but trouble throughout this war.
S.E Commander : Precisely, I should also mention that from now on, until we have won the battle, Midway Atoll is to be referred to as "AF". Does Everyone understand.
A/K/H/S : Yes ma'am

S.E Commander : Good. (Y/N), you will be our flagship in this operation when the time comes. You are all dismissed.

My room was silent, the only noise that was heard was the slow ticking of the clock on my wall. I took my mask off and looked at it, there was a dull red smudge on the fabric that would be connected around my left eye. I was surprised at how it hadn't gone away yet since it happened not long after I returned from my one month trip to Ironblood. I then looked in the mirror to see what had happened to my face and sighed.
*knock* *knock* *knock*
I quickly put my mask on but couldn't put it on in time. But luckily it was just Kaga.
Kaga : Hello (Y/N), how are you?
Me : I'm...doing alright.
Kaga : Thinking about the incident again.
I go quiet and slowly nod.
Kaga : *hugs (Y/N)* It's alright, I know you don't like what happened and what it left you looking like, but you can't let it get in the way of what's important. You need to stay strong for those you care about, such as me, Akagi and Z23.
Me : I guess.
Kaga : Anyway, I have to put supper on the table so get ready and come downstairs.
Kaga then leaves the room. I get up from my bed, leaving my mask behind, and leave my room to wash my hands and to go downstairs.
Me : Eventually... I will have to show everyone.
***** Chapter 16 done. I should also mention that the "Incident" and what it "left your face looking like" will be revealed later on in the story. So apart from that I'll see you next week.
