Esmay called me just when I decided to complete my marketing homework and she invited me to Edwin's place, in which I was not at all interested.
I closed my laptop and went to change something good. Of course, that's Esmay and no one can stop her from getting what she wants. I put on a light blue ripped jean with a black and white striped shirt.
I put my hair on a ponytail and turned off the lights.
I locked the door of my apartment. Life in the apartment had been hectic and I definitely missed my parents. I planned on taking in a roommate and even asked Esmay to recommend this place to the people she knew. But I was not satisfied with any one of them I talked with. I remember sighing everytime I spoke with anyone of the people who wanted to move in with me. The girls were all too talkative or were very girlish.
I braked right before Sua's and horned. She peeped through her window stuffing her mouth with ramen.
"Come in for a minute" she cried struggling with opening the window. I sighed, took off keys and went in.
"Hi dear" her mom greeted me rubbing her palms together like her hands were cold from all the work she had been doing from the morning.
"Hello, Mrs. Kang" I smiled at her and stepped into the kitchen.
Sua had put her face in a bowl and was eating the ramen with chopsticks. She looked up at me and pushed a bowl towards me. I shook my head for a 'no' and pushed it back to its old position.
"Ahh, I am so full" she said placing down the bowl with a thud. She threw the chopsticks into the bowl and ran around the house getting ready.
She asked her mom something in her language and they both ended up arguing while I was looking at them blankly understanding nothing.
"Hey, let's go" she said after few minutes as she came out of her room. We said goodbye to her mom and went for my car.
"Edwin's place, huh?" She said gazing outside. I hummed thinking if I should tell them about what happened in the last week. I had thought about that a lot but then ended up thinking that they would judge me or whatever. But I knew I should trust them as they did the same.
We just talked about random things on the way to his place but all the while I was thinking was what would be their reaction if I tell them.
I parked in front of his house and the view amazed me just like it did the first time I was taken here. Sua gaped at the house and opened her mouth to say something but then closed it like she decided against saying it.
We both stepped in and all she did was look around. I peeked through the door and Esmay was fighting her brother. Ryker noticed us and waved calling us in.
I went in looking at the couch remembering the day when I dragged him on to the couch. The grey couch which was painted with his blood once, showed no sign of any red stains. I still didn't know what happened to him on that day. I was curious but some part of me didn't wanna know cause I knew, it might end bad.
"I haven't seen a building this awesome" Sua commented beside me, finally looking straight.
"Thanks" a gentle voice boomed from up and all our eyes hovered over there. Reagen came down smiling, skipping two steps a time. Back came the devil, texting someone with his phone. He checked me out shamelessly and I looked away unable to tolerate his gaze on me.
"I hate to admit it but your taste is pretty good than I imagined it to be" Sua admitted from beside me peeking into the kitchen and Reagen just smiled like it had made his day.
"Should we watch this one?" Esmay asked, clicking on To all the boys I've loved before.
"No" Blaze said sternly while walking from inside the kitchen. He was carrying a plate of pancakes which looked utterly delicious. It reminded me of Mark, he always loved pancakes and literally even ditched his ex girlfriend for it.
They started arguing for choosing the movie. Everyone had a say in it except Edwin, who had been devilishly silent since we arrived. I was eyeing the pancakes the whole time and suddenly the group became silent.
"Let's vote for it" Esmay announced and Ryker immediately walked to Blaze's side. Es and Blaze looked at Edwin and all our eyes looked at him. He stood there rai
sing his brows. It looked like he hadn't listened to any of the thing they were speaking and didn't even know why they were looking at him.
"What?" He asked and Esmay groaned.
"Stop zoning out" Esmay whispered, annoyed.
"Nevermind, you will anyhow choose Blaze's side" she sighed, like she was tired of managing the boys.
Reagen and Sua surprisingly chose team Esmay. Reagen announced that he wanted Esmay to win at least once and Sua argued that she didn't want it to be its-so-obvious-win though she never liked the romcoms.
"Ash, you should choose me" Esmay said fluttering her eyelids trying to be cute and dangerous at a time.
"Stop making it a big deal, it's just a movie after all" I waved off the idea of getting murdered by Es or Blaze. Blaze was staring at me like he wouldn't hesitate to throttle me if I chose Esmay.
Esmay parted her lips to argue with me but then I immediately announced that I was on team Blaze and explained that I always liked sci-fi. Esmay looked disappointed and Blaze laughed at her loss of words.
"You have some pretty good taste, unlike her's" Blaze whispered, pointing to Esmay and she shot a glare which made him chuckle.
They settled on some sci-fi movie about astronauts and new planet. We were halfway into the movie when I felt like walking out for few minutes and I did. They were all so much into the movie that they didn't even notice me walking out.
The evening had faded out and the chill winter breeze hit my face. I stood in the porch and noticed the dark clouds rounding in the sky. It looked like it would start heavily raining any time now. I waited for a few minutes and turned around to almost bump into a chest.
My hands immediately went up like there was a gun pointed to my head. Edwin stood up straight in front of me, expressionless. I let out a breath of relief and eyed him suspiciously.
"You scared the shit outta me" I whisper-yelled at him and he just looked away. His face looked strained and he seemed like he had been thinking a lot recently.
I stepped away from his muscled figure,
"Who's that guy?", his words caught me off guard and I turned to give him a confused look, "I mean, the pizza guy back in your place" he said and that just irritated me for some reason.
"Why do you care?" I asked back and he stepped in front of me.
"Last time I checked, you were physically very close with him" he tone sharpened when he said 'physically'.
"Last time I checked, he was not into any of your business" I said and immediately he looked away tightening his jaw. His fists were clenched.
"Someone's jealous, huh?" I asked with a smile playing over my face. He chuckled looking away and the next second, he was leaning into me.
My cheeks were hot and I was blushing furiously while leaning back as he was leaning towards me. His hands grabbed my waist gently and his face was only inches away from mine. His lips slightly brushed against mine and he backed off. He looked away like it was bad desicion and walked back in, not even bothering to glance at me.
I stood there confused. Like always, he left me there pathetically and I was flustered. What the fuck did just happen here? I thought. He knew how to make me feel powerless.
