8. Ashley

I was shocked to see Aydan, I mean Edwin here. I had to convince myself that he was here as a student and not after me. I walked all around the building till I found class 37 for Spanish. I was 10 minutes late for my first class admiring that bastard.

I peeked through the door and almost all seats were filled. The teacher turned around and saw me peeking. Shit.

"Your late on your first day miss" she said a little roughly.

"I am sorry, I had tough time searching for my class" I whispered and she just shook her head irritably.

I looked for a seat and found one in the last row. I jogged there ignoring the stare of Mrs. Whoever - she - is.
I nearly fell down but then, someone helped me to sit near her. I thanked her before getting to my seat.

"Ashley Corbett" I said when she looked at me.

At first she didn't realize what I am saying but then she caught up,

"Oh hi, I am Esmay Young" she replied with a cute smile and I already started liking her. We introduced ourselves to each other and by the end of the class, we found ourselves commenting about everyone in the class.

Fortunately, our lockers were close to each other. We both spoke more about us and the things we like

I only had two classes today and it was already over before lunch. I told Esmay to wait for me near the restaurant outside.

I put my books in my locker and ran out to see her. She was talking to someone who was seated inside a car, that car looked expensive. Is it her boyfriend...

"Esmay" I called to her, jogging towards her.

She smiled at me and said something to the person inside the car. I reached her and stood wide eyed seeing the person she was talking to. Ay- Edwin?!

I tried to act normal and mumbled a 'hi', but he completely ignored me after hiding his shock.

"Do you know each other?" Esmay asked suspiciously.

I was about to say yes but then he interrupted."no"

Esmay looked confused?disappointed?, I'm not sure. I suck at reading people's emotions.

"Let's go for a coffee" Esmay said enthusiastically looking at both of us.

"I am sorry. I really want to, but I am grounded because of someone" I said trying so hard to keep a sad face and looked at him from the corner of my eyes.

I looked at my watch and said that I have to go, breaking the awkward silence.

I waved at Esmay and ran to the parking lot. Are they dating each other? I thought, for some reason that seemed to make me angry. So I convinced myself that they are cousins or whatever.

I saw my mom sitting on the couch excited. She came closer to me and asked how was school and whether I got any new friends.

We sat on the couch and talked for an hour. I said all about my day ignoring the part about Edwin. It's nothing like my mom didn't approve of guys but I disliked discussing that subject to my mom.

I went upstairs, to my room and took a warm shower. After the shower I went to my desk and started on my assignment.

The second day of school went well. I didn't see Edwin. After school. Esmay and I decided to go out for a coffee. She was kinda nice and maybe she didn't know that they kidnapped me.

We went to Starbucks and bought our drinks. We both bought a blonde expresso.

"Who is that guy you were talking to, yesterday?", I asked and pretended that I didn't know him, as we took our seats.
