The lights were dancing around the place with blasting in the background. It was one of the few nightclubs that were newly introduced in LA.
It's been a month after that Alec and his spy thing but he stopped bothering us which was a relief. We were doing our job without any kinds of disturbances which was also a great thing but I always felt like something big is gonna happen. I told the others but they waved it off.
I was interrupted from my thoughts when I caught the sight of a hot blonde girl sitting near me. She was wearing light make up and her single strap black dress hugging her curves which stopped till her mid thigh.
The hotty smiled at me and I smiled back which was pretty weird because I just dont smile at anyone unless if it's someone I am close to.
"Hi" I said after a few seconds of awkward silence between us.
"Hi" she paused, "I'm Hannah". Her cool grey eyes looked into mine and she looked away as soon as she caught mine.
"Edwin" I said before sipping my drink. It was actually very weird of me to start a conversation with a stranger and I was surprised with myself.
I looked at her waiting for her to say something but she remained silent till a girl came around and pulled Hannah to the dance floor. She looked apologetically at me and I nodded.
I sighed wondering what Ryker was up to when I heard him laughing behind me. I heard a familiar voice and turned around to see that Ryker was accompanied by Esmay, Kang girl and Ashley.
"Hey" Esmay said and jumped in the seat next me, and Kang and Ashley sat next to her.
"I didn't know you were coming" I said as I noticed that Ashley was wearing a full sleeved golden pink dress which stopped by her mid thigh. I looked away when she caught me checking her out.
After a few drinks, all others went for the dance floor except Ashley who was pretty intent in drinking. I must mention that her drinking tolerance was quite good that she was sober after 4 pegs of tequila.
I was looking at her when she was gulping down the liquor and ordered for another. She turned to me,
"What? Haven't you ever seen a girl drink?" She asked with a annoyed look.
"Who made you drink with such a ferocity?" I asked back.
She looked hesitant for a second and answered, "None of your business".
I chuckled and turned away to see Hannah laughing with her friend who dragged her to dance floor. After a few seconds, Ashley came in front of me tumbling and she looked drunk.
"Hey you" she said with her left hand on the counter and right one on her hem of the dress.
"How many shots did she have?" I asked the bartender who was looking at Ashley.
"Seven". Wtf?
I sighed and turned to Ashley who looked annoyed for some reason. I texted Esmay that I was gonna drop Ashley home.
"Let's get you home" I whispered and dragged her out. She kept tugging at my hand once in few seconds but all in vain.
"It's you" her voice sounded like she would cry if I don't sooth her now.
"What?" I asked as softly as I could after I made her sit on the pavement.
The chill night breeze hit us and she shivered a little wrapping her hands around her abdomen. I ignored her and repeated myself again.
"Let's walk home" she said, "please" she added before I could say no. Her home was only 15 mins away from here and I thought I could call Blaze to get me from there.
She was already walking ahead of me even before I replied her. I followed her as I had no other choice to let her go on her own.
"What am I doing with you out here?" She asked more to herself than to me.
"What am I doing with you out here?" I repeated, not bothering to look at her.
"Why am I like this? I don't even know what I want. I shouldn't be here with you, but my wants are pretty different from my needs" I didn't understand a thing about what she was rambling.
"I have good family and great friends but I still feel like I am not having my fill of satisfaction. I don't wanna be the perfect one like I've been", I chuckled thinking about her brother who was also included in her 'good family'. Girl, wait till you know him.
I took out my phone to ring Blaze but the person I was walking with, stopped and she started sobbing. What's with her?
"Why do I want a person who ignores me rather than the person who wouldn't take his eyes off me?" She yelled loud enough that the whole street could've heard it. Boy issues? I'm not the best person you could ask these, sweetheart.
I closed my eyes getting irritated with her and her problems. I sighed and leaned down to her 5'2 height.
"Common, you're drunk and tired. You can talk about this in the morning" I told her gently, not breaking my staring. Her eyes were teary and they looked sad and exhausted.
She followed me like a obedient kid for a few minutes before she opened her mouth again.
"How can you be so dumb?" So it's about me now.
"I heard that you are a quick witted person but I don't actually think so. You are literally the most dumbest person I have ever met" she paused to catch her breath
"Edwin Sphinter, you're intoxicating" she looked pale while I was trying to process what she'd just said. Ashley Corbett is falling for me.
It felt pretty weird hearing those words from the person who Reagen wanted so badly. I turned around to see if it was some kind of prank but I didn't notice any hidden cameras and I immediately tensed...
