I have nothing to wear. Nothing at all.Ok, so that is such a lie. I have lots of clothes. I just have nothing I feel like looks good enough to wear to meet up with Logan. I am frantically swiping through every part of my closet looking for... actually; you know what? I don't even know what type of outfit I am looking for, honestly. I let out a frustrated groan.
Why do I even care what I am wearing? I don't need to impress him. Logan is a client now... maybe even just a friend. A stunningly gorgeous friend, but nothing more than that. I really just need to get out of my head. Not only did I just end a relationship, but even if he was single and interested, I do not date clients. Ever. A rule that the girls and I have never broken.
I feel beyond jittery thanks to the almost kiss last night with Noah and my nerves about meeting with Logan today. Maybe coffee wasn't such a great idea. I try to shake those thoughts away quickly so that I can finish getting ready and leave.
I settle on a longer rust colored tunic top with a pair of black leggings and a pair of ankle boots. I look cute and ready for the fall, but you can definitely tell I'm not trying too hard. Leaving my hair down in the left over curls from last night, I grab my phone and enough cash for a coffee and a snack, then begin my walk to the park.
The nerves are really getting the best of me right now. The other night when we talked at the club, I had tons of liquid courage fueling me. It made me a little too flirty, though. Caffeine luckily doesn't have that same effect on me, but I wish it gave me the liquid courage that alcohol does. You'll be fine, Soph. It's just Logan.
I'm thankful that the trees are showing their beautiful fall colors already on this beautiful early October morning. The vibrant colors are making for a very enjoyable walk. Fall is by far my favorite season, and the best place to enjoy it is at the park. So even if this meet up is awkward, at least I can enjoy the newly arriving colors.
As I cross the last road towards the cafe, I can see Logan sitting outside at one of the small bistro tables waiting for me. The fact that he was able to snag one of these tables on a Sunday morning is impressive. Eventually he looks up and we lock eyes. Damn those beautiful steel-gray eyes. I can feel the smile form on my face from what those eyes do to me.
"Good Morning!" I say to him as I approach the table and wave slightly. He rises from his seat and leans in to give me a hug once I get to the table. "Good morning to you too, Soph," he responds as I am engulfed in a sweet hug, "I'm really glad you could make it!" The gentle embrace mixed with his warm scent immediately puts me at ease.
"Well, no offense, but I am always up for a reason to visit this cafe," I joke with him as we separate, "I guess it just worked out in your favor!"
"A beautiful fall day, a good cup of coffee and your amazing company? I would agree with you!"
I smile immediately and nervously push some hair behind my ear as I take a seat at the table. "You definitely will have a good cup of coffee coming your way. Speaking of, what's your drink of choice this morning?"
"I'll go get our coffees. What can I grab for you?" Logan remains standing, waiting for my coffee order.
"Actually, you don't have to go up to the counter to order," He gives me a confused look. I chuckle, "I know a girl that works here." I look over and see Ava clearing up one table near the café door. Once I'm noticed, she enthusiastically waves at me and then heads over towards our table.
"Hey Sophia! How are you? Haven't seen you lately!" Ava joyfully waltzes over throws her arms around me in a hug, her long blonde curls bouncing with excitement.
