"Come on, we're gonna be late for the dinner reservation!" Gianna exclaims as she's rushing me around the apartment. She's been staying at my place with me since our event over the weekend. She refuses to let me stay there alone after Oliver acted the way he did. I don't blame her, really, but it isn't like she can stay with me forever. And she's a bit of a pain in the ass to live with, if I'm being honest.
"Yea, yea, yea... I'm ready geez- just need to get my heels on. Char is meeting us there, right?"
"Yup! And our Uber should be here any minute, so lets gooooo. I'm freaking starving."
I feel like I'm going to break an ankle from my heels as we rush down to the Uber. We make it in perfect timing. The Uber was just pulling up. "We're going to Lucciola, please," she instructs the driver as we plop into our seats. Shit, I never even asked her where we were going before hearing the place now. Last time I was there was with Oliver when he asked me to move in with him... not that she actually knew this. I never mentioned what restaurant we went to. I listen to her small talk with the driver to try to keep my mind off Oliver.
The car pulls up to the Italian restaurant and I see Charlotte is already at the front entrance, waiting for us. "Hey girls!" she says as we approach, "I already checked with the hostess and they have our table ready for us." She opens the large glass entrance door and we file in. We get escorted to our table- thankfully, it isn't in the courtyard like the last time I was here.
"Man, am I hungry!" Gianna exclaims as she opens up the menu.
"So, are we celebrating something by getting dressed up and having a fancy dinner?" Charlotte asks while looking at the menu.
Gianna smirks. "Why can't friends just go out for a fancy dinner together? That's totally normal, right Soph?" She elbows my arm and I roll my eyes at her. After I told her about the "casual friend dinner" with Logan, she made a fancy dinner reservation for us since it was "such a casual, friendly thing to do". Whatever... typical Gianna.
"Yea, it's nice to do every so often." I respond and roll my eyes at her, thankful that Charlotte wasn't watching her elbow me.
We take a moment to figure out what we wanted to eat and order our drinks as well. The server brings our drinks back over, along with a few extra shots that we didn't order. She leans towards us as she places them down. "These are from the gentlemen over there." She points over to a table a few tables away.
The 4 men raise their own shots towards us with smiles plastered on their chiseled faces. A very familiar pair of eyes meets mine. Noah Collins. Regardless of how I feel about Logan right now, I cannot argue how good looking Noah is. The other men he's there with are definitely something to look at as well, that's for damn sure. All of them are dressed in full suits, which makes it seem like they all are having a dinner meeting. Of course, we would end up at the same restaurant as him. The three of us give each other a look and raise the shots in the air towards them. They nod back at us as they take their own shots.
"Well, this evening just got more interesting. Man, what are the odds of running into him?" Gianna blurts out after she downs her shot. "And hell, he sent us some of the best tequila I've ever had. I may want another one of these!" She holds her empty shot glass up towards the server, signaling for another one.
"Yea... what crazy odds." I look at her suspiciously. My phone dings loudly from my clutch. Whoops, I forgot to silence it. I look down and see another text message from yet another random number. Oliver. I let out a loud sigh and silence my phone and shove it back into my purse.
"Is everything okay, Soph?" Charlotte says with worry in her voice.
"Oh umm, yea. It's just Oliver. Again." I pinch the bridge of my nose in frustration.
