Buzzzz...Buzzzz...Buzzzz...

I look down at my vibrating phone next to me. Amber's name is spread across my screen...again. She has been calling me throughout the week, but I have yet to answer any of the calls. The shit she pulled at the club was inexcusable. She was so beyond rude to Sophia and the fact that she tried acting like my girlfriend just pisses me off. We've had this conversation numerous times and she still doesn't get it. I have no desire to be with a person like her.

I should have spoken up far earlier than I actually did and pushed her arm off my shoulders. I'm sure Sophia thinks that her and I are an item. Fuck! That's the last thing I want her to think. Not that I would expect Sophia to ever be interested in me again. She just got cheated on and probably wants nothing to do with seeing anyone. Shit- would I even want her to be interested in me? From the moment I saw her a couple weeks ago, no other woman has caught my eye. Hell, I haven't even slept with anyone since the first night being in New York. This is all new to me.

A knock on my office door interrupts my thoughts. "Come in," I answer. The door opens and Noah pops his head in, "Hey, you got a minute?" "Yea, sure. What's up?"

"So, I just got a phone call from Amber. Are you ignoring her calls dude?"

I let out my frustration with a growl. "She crossed a line this past weekend, so I am letting myself cool down before I talk to her."

"I feel like I shouldn't have to say this, but we can't just ignore clients, Logan. You should know that."

"Yes, I know this, but..."

"What did she do that was sooooooo horrible?" He interrupts.

"Well, Liam talked me into accepting her invitation to a local club on Saturday- she had VIP access that night. While we were there, we ran into Sophia, Charlotte, and Gianna. Sophia and I were catching up in the VIP section while everyone else was dancing. While we were talking, Amber came back up and tried to act like her and I were a thing and was extremely rude towards Sophia for no reason. This caused Sophia to get up and leave immediately. She was completely out of line in my opinion."

He laughs. "Come on, you know how Amber can get. She was probably annoyed that you came out with her and instead of dancing with her, you decided to stay back and hang out with another girl. And not just any girl... a really attractive one. She gets her jealous panties in a twist when it comes to you dude. You should know this."

"Noah, I AM. NOT. WITH. HER. I am not going to just cave into her because she thinks I'm her fucking property!" I pinch the bridge of my nose. This woman causes me so many damn headaches. "Isn't there anyone else that can take her as a client?"

I am hoping he can come up with someone else that would jump at the chance to represent her for the label.

"I'm not moving her to anyone else Logan, I'm sorry. She won't work with anyone else here and we have to keep our clients happy. Why can't you just play the part whenever you guys are together? It's not like you are dating anyone right now... or even in the near future- that's not your style. It ultimately would help the label if we keep her happy."

"I have zero interest in pretending we are anything other than professional acquaintances. When she starts interfering in my personal life like she did this weekend, I have a problem with that. Regardless of whether I am dating anyone or not." I spin my chair away from Noah and look out my window at the cityscape. I take a deep breath. "If I need to continue representing her, I guess I will just stop attending anything with her that isn't work related."

Before Noah could answer me, I hear a light knocking on the open door. "Excuse me, Mr. Collins." It was Miranda, our receptionist. "Your invitations for the Mayor's event tomorrow was just dropped off. I know you were waiting for them." She hands Noah an envelope and then turns to leave as Noah thanks her.
