It's a date. I'll see you then...Don't be an idiot and think too much into this, Sophia. Well too damn late for that one...the idiot has arrived and is probably hanging out for awhile. I roll my eyes at myself.
Looking around the venue, I know I should be focusing on the event around me right now, but all that keeps coming to mind is my very brief, but exciting conversation with Logan last night. I should be taking in the beautiful blue lighting that fills Gotham Hall... the speckles of perfectly placed twinkle lights around the ceiling to mimic the stars that are constantly hidden by the lights of the city. But instead I am thinking about his amazing steel gray eyes that I could easily look at everyday for the rest of my life and never tire of it.
I should be enjoying the amazing greenery designs that sit perfectly in the center of each table, surrounded by the prettiest silver chiavari chairs I could get a hold of. But instead I am envisioning him smiling that beautiful smile he has at his phone as I accept his request to meet up. The smile that always made me completely melt back in High School.
I should be amazed at the fact that we truly brought Central Park indoors tonight in honor of the Mayor's birthday, but instead I am stuck on the fact that Logan called our meeting tomorrow a date.
Ugh, stop it Sophia!! He clearly has a girlfriend in his life... not an impressive one in my opinion, but I guess it is what it is. I'm not even really sure what he feels he needs to explain to me. Maybe he wants to politely let me down after we got a little too close to each other last weekend. I had a bit too much liquid courage and shared way more than I should've with him. If I would've kept that information to myself, he most likely wouldn't have placed his hand on my cheek to wipe away my traitorous tears.
I've been overthinking this since we stopped talking last night. Do you realize how tiring that is? It would've been nice to have the girls to help talk me off the ledge, but they were both busy last night. Gianna had her own little night out with the club owner's son, Mr. Use My Full Name Instead Of A Shortened Version... Michael. I shouldn't even need to remember his name honestly. Gi never keeps them around long. She enjoys her fun- as she should.
Charlotte apparently had her own "date" last night too. She wouldn't give me any information about it because, and I quote, "It's too early to have anything to say about it. I will fill you in once it is". All I know is that she was going out to dinner with him first. She did keep in touch to let me know she was at least safe, but she wasn't home until the early morning. Must have gone well... I will let her tell me about it when she is ready. Which is probably why she has yet to mention it to Gianna. She has a tendency to pry information out of you whether you wanted to allow it or not. Charlotte is more private than both Gianna and I, so I will at least let her come to me when she's ready. Don't get me wrong, I will still try and nicely get it out of her here and there, but I won't pry too badly.
Alright, pay attention the the party now!
I head over towards Charlotte, who is standing right near the dance floor watching the beautifully dressed couples dance to the graceful instrumental music. Women in fancy floor length gowns, men in their perfectly tailored tuxedos. Not one person looks out of place tonight.
She leans towards me as I approach her and says, "I'll tell you what Soph, it's crazy how different this environment is from a nightclub. I swear it's like a whole separate world sometimes."
I nod my head in agreeance. "So... are you saying this because you were recently at a club?" I question her, hoping she'll clue me into how her night went. She smirks at me, but continues to watch the guests dancing, "Maybe I was... or maybe it was just a random thought."
