Jaden pov
My mom rushed into the kitchen all frantic. Slightly panicked, she ran over to me, forcing me to stand up and turn around. She quickly spun me around, forced me to sit down again, and hugged me. Like really tight. She kissed my forehead multiple times. When she pulled away she wiped away some tears that's just added to my confusion.
"My baby boy is all grown up." She exclaimed. This didn't help the confused expression on my face. "You started your period my son, we must celebrate." And that was when Blair completely lost it.
She dropped to the ground in laughter and so did my mom. When they finally calmed down, Blair stood up with a smirk and I looked at her with a bored and flat expression.
"Boo, you whore. You have to admit that was kinda funny." She teased.
"Ah yes, that was the height of entertainment." I shot back, mocking her British accent once again.
"If you butcher my accent one more fucking time Hossler, I will burn you." She said as reached into the oven and pulled out the spicy enchiladas.
"What did you make my darling?" My mom asked as she sat where I was previously sat.
"I made spicy enchiladas." She answered.
"What about pissy pants? He wouldn't eat that." Mom said pointing to me. Uh rude.
"Mom, I asked for her to make that thank you very much." I said as a matter of factly.
"Uh huh, sure, and pigs can fly." She retorted.
"No he genuinely did. I asked him if he could try one thing new for dinner and he said enchiladas but make them spicy. So I took that and ran with it." Blair explained as she played up the food.
"Jaden, go get the twins." My mom demanded.
"Yes your highness." I sarcastically responded.
"Keep up the attitude and you can sleep in the shed you little shit." She shouted to me as I laughed and left the kitchen.
We were all sat at the dinner table rather peacefully, until Trinity spoke up.
"So Jaden." She said bringing mine, and everyone's attention to her.
"So Trinity?" I asked back, mocking her.
"I heard you became a man today." She teased. I looked out of the corner of my eye and saw Blair trying not to laugh. I turned my head fully to glare at her and she lost it. She was laughing quietly this time, not howling like she was with my mom earlier.
"I hate you so much." I said to her. She snickered, while my sister Holly started to rub my arm 'reassuringly'
"It's ok Jaden. It's natural, nothing to be embarrassed about." She teased to me. This made Blair's laughter increase in volume and caused me to slouch in my seat wishing to erase my existence.
"When are you going home?" I asked Blair jokingly.
"I mean if you insist." She said as she went to leave the table.
"No no no. Where the fuck do you think you are going?" I asked as I pulled her to sit back down. "You are the one that created this problem, you can stay and endure it with me." I said as I sat back up.
"You make it sound like it's a problem for me. I find it funny." She answered.
"So is this just going to become like a tradition? Am I going to get bullied for everything I do?" I asked feigning hurt.
"Stop being melodramatic." Blair said in a fake annoyed tone.
"You're on thin ice you little shit." I said as I squinted at her.
"Watch your fucking language Jaden." My mom said causing us all to laugh.
You ever sleep with someone who knows how to punch and kick? Well don't because it fucking hurts.
Sometimes she can be peaceful when she sleeps, she'll curl up into a ball or rest her head on my chest, or sometimes it'll be the other way around. And she's cute, she's still and quiet.
But when she gets the terrors and the nightmares, things can be dangerous not only to herself. But to others too.
When she gets like that you can't touch her. You don't know what she will feel that as, which in turn will normally backfire on you. But if she gets into a position where she is trying to protect her head, she can move herself into a position that is potentially life threatening with the way that her neck is bent.
Like tonight. She doesn't scream in them. Her brain knows better than to make a noise, even if it's just a simulated experience. She woke me up with the little whimpers and I could tell what was happening. I got out of bed and just sat in the chair watching her.
I know that sounds creepy but not in that way. I needed to make sure she was safe. It was literally four in the morning and I am doing this. Hopefully she will just do what she usually does, which is throw her hands to her head to protect it.
But of course, the universe was not on my side tonight. She started to wriggle about and dug her head in between the pillows. Not a bad idea for protection. The only problem created was that now her long, thick, silky, black hair has wrapped around the base of her throat. Her moving about will only pull it tighter.
She told me right from the start that this was a fear of hers, especially with the length and strength hey that rhymed. Of her hair. Because of its thickness, when it's pulled tight, it won't tear easily or loosen easier than with thinner hair. Which presents an issue if a situation like this were to happen.
I now have to somehow reposition her body so that the hair is loosened, and hopefully into a position where I can tie her hair up for her.
You may be thinking that the easiest option would be to wake her up. But you'd be surprised. She has this episode where even if she's awake or asleep, her mind can't differentiate who she is talking to, and instead will paste on a face it recognises. Everything in her vision is dark except for the person who isn't actually who she thinks it is. I don't know if her mind is like that right now, but no matter what, that will always happen when someone first wakes her up.
It can be quite a pain sometimes, especially when you don't know how long they last. She can't tell the difference between the voices in her panicked state so it's often you have to remind her who you are before you touch her. It's hard enough being on the outside of that situation. I don't even want to imagine what it must be like for her.
She calmed down quite quickly this time. She actually managed to wake herself up. Couldn't tell you if that was a good or a bad thing, I'm assuming it's bad because the first thing that happened was a pillow flew at my head. She dropped her head into the pillows and she was asleep almost instantly. She really is a strange one.
I am scared. There's something I haven't told her and I don't know how she is going to take it. I feel really guilty for accepting, but it's a really great opportunity for me. I just hope and pray that she will see it like that too.
If only I knew the mistake I was making by not telling her.
