Saranghae
Chapter 1
JinHai
My life is simple. I go here to there and then back again. Today I had a meeting. Or what I liked to call a silent meeting. I sat next to my manager while he talked to the heads of the company and I sat there like the good trainee I was. Yeah Trainee.
Maybe nine months ago I was scouted. I was told that I had a wonderful voice and they were surprised my Korean was so well despite not having an ounce of Korean in me. But since I didn't want to go all the way to South Korea I auditioned online. I didn't think I would be close to making it. I really didn't expect the events that came after. But to cut it short I got in to one of the biggest companies that they have in South Korea. SM Entertainment. Surprises all around.
I didn't mind leaving America. I didn't have many friends there anyway. I didn't care all too much in general. The first things I learned when coming here is that everything is different. There's formality. There's a different air. No diversity. I didn't mind that either.
My manager stood next to me as we walked into the building. Usually Trainees don't have managers. They get managers when they get placed into a group, but no, mine isn't really for singing. She represents me with modeling and acting gigs. I started modeling and acting maybe three months after I moved here. Lets just say the debt and money to pay for every thing were very unbalanced. I met Eun-Joo around that time and she offered to help me out. And its been working since then. Now she shows up at my meetings. Where I go, She goes.
When we got to the room They ushered us to sit down which we did after bowing. There was one person behind a desk and a woman who over shadowed his every movement.
In short If he moved to itch his butt she'd probably offer to do it for him.
"Jessie Lee. It's nice to see you again." The man greeted. I smiled uneasily. He had thick eyebrows with little space in between each other to identify them as two separate shrubs.
"Its nice to see you again as well." I said, I couldn't remember his name. I kept my eyes leveled on his desk.
"Oh and Eun-Joo, it's been a while." He said. My mind drifted off. I had lessons I needed to attend later. College classes actually. I had to run home and grab my piece before going to class. I don't want to have to drag it all the way there... maybe I should take a taxi. Yeah a taxi. It'll fit there. Art classes are complicated.
"Jessie," I felt a tug at my elbow. My eyes snapped up. I repositioned myself. My skirt was rubbing uncomfortably against my thigh. I slid my hands under my thighs.
"Yes?" I asked. My eyes darted from Eun-Joo to the man behind the desk who had a large smile.
"Did you hear what I said?" He asked. The shrubs are moving.
"No, I'm sorry. I was thinking." I responded quietly.
"Its okay. Well I was just telling your manager that you have been placed. Your debut deadline should be in five months." I furrowed my eyebrows. Placed? What does that even mean? They only thing that came to mind was a music group.
"Huh?" I asked.
"You're been picked." Eun-Joo said to me happily. My hand ran up and scratched the area behind my ear where it connects with my jaw line.
"That's good news." I said quietly. I didn't feel it though. I felt more sick. Like my whole world was crashing around me. Shattering all my walls.
"Yes it's very good news." The man said. "We're going to announce you as the last and eighth member. We have to do this fast, your group will be known as the savior group in SM we hope to bring our figures up with your group." The man said and I nodded. I felt like my head was going to burst.
