Mully Pov

I wake up in the morning and quickly look down at my fingernail. It's colored. A smile spreads across my face. As much as I would say that I thought that soulmates started too young, I was happy I had one. I jump out of my bed, and grabs some clothes. My mom's downstairs, I can hear her, she's fighting with my dad. He probably cheated again. Figures. Josh and the rest of my friends won't be coming for a while, but I want to get out of the house. My room has a window that has the roof right next to it. It's very easy to sneak out. I climb out of the window and drop down into the bushes. I brush the dirt off of my pants and walk to the park. I like to just swing there for a little bit when I just need to get out of the house.

I wake up in the morning and rub my hands over my face. I know it's Mully's birthday today, so I grab some nice clothes. When I'm putting on my pants, I see color on my fingernail. It's a bright blue. Why did I get my color now? Months after my own birthday? I shake my head and continue getting dressed. I go downstairs to get myself some cereal. I sit down at the table and eat it. Once I'm finished, I decide to go for a walk. It seemed to be nice out. I wrote a note and taped it to the cabinets so my mom sees. I close the door behind me after putting my shoes on. I walk down the sidewalk. I see the park that I used to play on when I was a kid. It was where I met Mully. I see someone sitting on the swings. I pass by and don't think much of it. I make a lap around and when I come back, I see they're still sitting there. I look closer and see that it's Mully.

"Hey Mull," I say. He jerks and turns around.

"Oh, hey Josh," Mully says.

"What're you doing out here?" I ask, sitting on the swing next to him. He's sitting on his hands, looking at the ground.

"My parents were fighting, I had to get out of there," Mully says.

"I'm sorry," I say.

"It's fine," Mully says.

"You can hang out at my house until tonight, we can tell the others to meet there instead," I say.

"That'd be nice," Mully says.

"Come on, lets go," I say. I have gloves on my hands and when Mully pulls his hands out from under himself, he too is wearing them. I hold out my hand for him to take.

"Thanks Josh," Mully says.

"Don't mention it," I say.
