Josh Pov
Today is my 15th birthday. But I didn't get my painted fingernail. When I woke up, I checked it right away, but there was nothing there. Sort of makes me think of Eddie's friend Gabby. But it feels different. Usually any crush you had before your 15th birthday goes away. Because now you have your soulmate and anything else is just a silly crush. But I've had feelings for Mully for a while and the feelings are still there. Maybe my body hasn't processed the whole I'm 15 thing. My friends don't know yet because we're hanging out tonight. It's just Grant, Mully, Ayden, and I. Since Eddie and Gaege moved away. Our group got really small. But it didn't affect our friendship too much. Mully is the first to arrive.
"Hey Mul," I say, opening up the door. We're just meeting at my house. We're actually going to an arcade though.
"Hey Joshy," Mully says.
"Don't call me that," I say. Mully laughs at me.
"So what color did you get?" Mully asks.
"I didn't," I say.
"What?" Mully asks.
"I didn't get a color. At least not yet," I say.
"Dude, I would advise painting that shit. Otherwise you're really gonna get teased at school," Mully says.
"Nah, I'll just take after Gaege. I wonder if he'll let me borrow those gloves," I say.
"Suit yourself, when are the rest of them coming?" Mully asks.
"Soon," I say and then there's a knock at the door. I open it and Ayden and Grant are there. "Hey guys, ready to spend the night in a too dark with neon lights that will surely hurt our eyes in the future?"
"Hell yeah," everyone says.
"Bye mom!" I call out.
"Be careful!" She says.
"We will," I say. We leave the house and walk down the side walk. We joke about things and laugh. Whenever I hear Mully laugh, I get butterflies in my stomach. I brush it off though because I'm sure he's not my soulmate. I wouldn't get that lucky. We get to the arcade and gather all of our money, seeing how much we have. We have about 50 bucks between all of us. So we each get $12.50. Everyone spreads out to their own games. Mully finds his way back to me though.
"Having fun birthday boy?" He asks.
"Yeah, best birthday ever," I say.
"So you're not upset that you didn't get a soulmate?" Mully asks.
"Why should I be? I don't want to date anyone anyway. Parents always put so much pressure on us when we're so young," I say.
"I agree. We shouldn't get soulmates this young," Mully says.
"Are you enjoying yourself?" I ask.
"Definitely. We don't do this enough," Mully says.
"Totally. We need to do this more," I say.
"New tradition. Every time someone has a birthday we go to the arcade for the night and pool all the money we can," Mully says.
"I like that idea," I say.
"Then it's settled. The Annual Arcade Adventure," Mully says. "The AAA."
"The AAA," I repeat. "I love it." We spend the rest of the night making more bad ideas such as trying roller skating at the roller rink across the street. And chugging a shit ton of soda. We were totally wired. This will be a night to remember.
First part done! Tell me what you guys think!!! Luv you all!
