(3rd pov)

The warmth of the fireplace caressed both sapnap's and dream's faces. They were both layed beside the hearth of the fire, basking in the comfortable silence that fell upon them as Sapnap began to lightly fall into an unconcious state, head resting in dream's lap.

Weeks before this, they confessed to eachother in their floridan vacation home. Dream wasn't one for relationships, but seemed to have always had a thing for his texan. After years of friendship and denying the whole feelings for boys thing, he eventually came to his senses and decided that it was more than just a friendly thing he felt for Sapnap.

Sapnap always had a thing for him, and always seemed to tell Dream everything. Or so the blonde thought.

One thing Dream never knew, and the one thing Sapnap refused to tell him, was that he was in fact more than just "soft" as his friends called him. Growing up, he had alot of stress with his parents constantly drinking and fighting, obviously traumatizing him with either things. That was until he recieved a teddy bear from his grandmother, developing separation anxiety with it and refusing to go anywhere without it with him.

He was now 20, and still kept a great hold and relationship with the bear.

Dream found Sapnap carrying the bear around their house rather interesting, and soon after a few days he confronted the boy about it. Sapnap had to go into vivid detail about this, bringing up his past and crying into Dream's shoulder.

Although he seemed to think the latter hated him for being the way he was, a kiss on the forehead and light words being spoken to him said otherwise, making his crying stop and him to smile up to the blonde.

They both grew quite comfortable to Sapnap's random reggression states, his little kicking in and him becoming quite needy to the other with attention, and eventually they went out to buy random things that Sapnap would want to make him feel more okay with Dream being his caregiver.

Dream let out a comfortable sigh, his fingers intertwining with the raven's hair as he watched the fire burn and chip away the firewood. The blankets spread all around on the floor gave enough cushioning for it to be oddly comfortable to the both of them, causing them to constantly fall into calm and sleepy states.

Every night they would do this. Stare at the fire as they took turns on who's head is on the other's lap. It was quite cold in Dream's house, so they often bundled up and cuddled near the fireplace to fall asleep.

thud.

A light bang was heard in the kitchen. Glass shattering upstairs mixing in with the random bursts of thumping.

Dream perked up, his body freezing as he watched the hallway. The pitch black darkness of it made anything in it barely visable to the eye. Another thud was heard upstairs, his gaze immediately glancing around and up to the ceiling.

The blonde shook Sapnap's shoulder, trying to awaken the boy quietly. Although he had experienced a break in before, his best friend being there whilst one happened was something he didnt want the other to go through. And thefts were not very common in the area he lived in, causing light fear to fall in his mind.
