2019.02.06🍓find another way

the group were leaving the building after finishing their interview on idol radio.
fans crowded around the barriers as the group made their way to the van.
aislinn was sandwiched between san and mingi as they walked, a couple of the boys engaging in small talk with her.
the group lined up as they got to the van, aislinn only then realizing that only eight seats were available since two other kq staff had decided to tag along for the ride. neither of the two male staff seemed to stop and think that the eighteen year old might want to go back to the company building in the van.

"oh, linlin noona, do you want to-" jongho started as he went to unbuckle his belt.

"no, jongie, im fine. you guys can go. ill get another ride," the girl smiled and shut the door, allowing them to head home.
she sighed and took out her phone, calling her manager who answered right away. "manager nim, hi. the boys are on their way back to kq but there wasnt enough seats in the van for me.. im still at the venue, yes.. theres not? okay, well, i can walk back.. of course theres no problem.. okay, bye bye. talk to you later." her manager hung up and she checked the weather forecast. 30% chance of rain. 87% chance of snow. guess im walking home in a bit of snow. she put her phone away and started heading back to kq.

oh, wow, its a bit chilly now, aislinn thought to herself as the snow grew heavier. she had been walking for about an hour and she was still no where near the half way point to the company building. she walked slowly through the already 6 inch deep blanket of snow, not wanting to slip on the cold layer.

she came to a crossroad and stopped to look and listen before crossing. what the girl certainly didnt expect was to be knocked to the ground. although her body was numb enough to feel no pain, her hands and legs were a little grazed, there was blood soaking into her white skirt and running down her thigh ( may i add, in three different places ), and there was definitely a bruise making its way to show itself atop her white hip – it was already slightly visible through her white lace skirt

she stood up in time to see the same car drive off into the distance. "well, that wasnt very nice," she mumbled as she proceeded to limp in the direction she was originally headed.

she eventually saw the oh so familiar skatepark and knew she was at least half way home by now. aislinn smiled before pushing some snow off of a bench and sitting on it, resting her numb but aching body for a minute. the snow continued getting heavier and heavier making it harder for her to see. although she loved her outfit, she regretted not making her stylist check the forecast and choose a more suitable outfit. she looked down at herself and did nothing but sigh at the sight of her purple and red legs.

eventually, she decided it was time to start heading back to kq once again.
by the time the 711 and kq building came into sight, she had been walking through the snowstorm for three and a half hours.
aislinn smiled slightly as she opened the door and limped in, immediately crouching down and wrapping her arms around her body for even just the tiniest bit of heat. she looked down the entrance corridor and saw her members sat on the black chairs with one of their managers infront of them.

"where is she? where is my baby?" she heard seonghwa cry as she looked at him to see the oldest wrapped in yeosangs embrace, the pair of them crying together.

"manager, sir, why did you allow the other staff to join us? you know that there are only ten passenger seats in our van and we use nine of them. why didnt you do anything? when we got back here, you could have gone back to get her. but, instead, you proceeded to sit in your office and say 'she will be back soon'. what if she-" hongjoong was cut off when yunho spoke.

"b-baby girl?" yunho choked out as he jogged toward aislinns small figure crouched by the wall. he removed his coat and draped it over her as she looked up at him and smiled lightly.

"hey, yunnie," she spoke quietly.

"come here, baby girl," he crouched down and picked her up, taking her to the heater the group were stood by.

"baby, oh, i was so worried about you! you were gone for almost four hours!" seonghwa hiccuped as he scrambled out of the seat to wrap himself around their female member. "youre so cold; were you really outside that whole time?" seonghwas voice was laced with worry as he, too, removed his coat and wrapped it around her small figure.

"im sorry," she choked out, burying her head in the olders chest as she, too, started to cry.

"why wouldnt you answer your phone?" san asked once everyone had calmed down. aislinn looked up at him and frowned.

"wha- it- my phone didnt-?" she took her phone out of her pocket and tried switching it on. "i think its dead-"

"whats all this?" yeosang asked as he pointed to her right hip and thigh. a large black and purple bruise could be seen as clear as day through her skirt as it stretched from her mid-thigh to her waist. he also pointed out how the skirt was now half red and not white. aislinn pursed her lips as she looked down and started fiddling with the rings on her fingers, not sparing a single glance toward any of her members. "aislinn!" yeosangs voice was full of authority, something that shocked all the members.

"i-it was just a l-little bump," the girl mumbled with a sigh.

"what? speak up," yeosang said, lifting the girls head to look him in the eye.

"it was a car, okay? but im sure it was just an accident," she huffed and pouted angrily.

"youre sure it was an accident? did they not-" wooyoung started but was interrupted by mingi.

"look at this," he said as he turned his phone around to show the other 8 members a news article he saw as he was scrolling through his phone.

" 'ATEEZ member choi aislinn left to walk back to KQ Entertainment alone in a snowstorm; hit and run outside StarBucks parking lot' " jongho read the articles headline aloud. "a hit and run? seriously? they hit you and then drove off? that motherfu-"

"language, jongho," hongjoong cut in as san took the phone from mingi and read the article for them all to hear.

" 'Aislinn, maknae of rookie group ATEEZ, was the victim of a hit-and-run. on her way back from an interview, the idol was caught up in a snowstorm. why she didnt join the members in the van, we dont know. but, what we do know is that the perpetrator of this hit-and-run will be caught. a so-called ATINY followed the idol, apparently worried for her safety, and recorded the lengthy 3 and a half hour trip back to KQ. thankfully, they caught the number plate and the incident. they also caught the idol limping away from the scene after muttering some incoherent words. watch the video below, the car is first seen at 63:47.' " san finished with a sigh. the boys shared looks before yunho went ahead and pressed the timestamp, the video playing on the screen.

"-aislinn, my favorite person in the world. i cant believe i am only five feet away from the love of my life. shes so small. a baby. weve been out here for about an hour. i just want to make sure she gets back saf- oh, shit!"
thats when the car came. they didnt slow down, they didnt use the horn, and only one of the headlights were turned on. the car appeared to have swerved before hitting aislinn and driving off straight away as if nothing happened.

the boys looked at the girl after mingi turned off his phone. "im sorry... im so so sorry... please forgive me," she sobbed into her hands.

after aislinn calmed down, the group headed out to the van to go back to their dorm. "why didnt you call one of us before your phone died?" hongjoong asked as the van pulled up outside their dorm building.

"because im stupid, alright? i didnt think of calling anyone because i thought i could get back by myself. obviously i was wrong. feel free to yell at me," aislinn spoke with a sigh before getting out of the van.

"nobody is going to yell at y-"

"choi aislinn, get over here right now!"

"you were saying?"
