"I told ya' ta stop smokin didn't I?" Atsumu's soft mumble was muffled by Kiyoomi's neck but he still heard the boy. "I know I know. But I wanted to relieve some stress from work." Kiyoomi sighed as he hugged Atsumu close to his chest and rested this head on his husband's. Atsumu sighed as he in turn wrapped a lazy arm around Kiyoomi and nuzzled into him. "Ok but don't smoke too much yea? Ya can't die earlier than me." Atsumu said and he looked up to smile at the raven whose face flushed at the sight. Kiyoomi leaned down to press a loving kiss to Atsumu's lips and smile back. They spent the next few minutes of so like that, in a comforting silence that covered them like a safety blanket. At least that was until Kiyoomi started coughing. It was a light cough but still. Atsumu looked up at the younger with slight concern painted on his face. Kiyoomi brushed it off with a smile and lightly squeezed the other to tell him he was alright.
The coughing continued getting worse.
Light coughs here and there had turned into hackling in a matter of months. Even Kiyoomi's coworkers were starting to get increasingly worried. However, he would always brush it off and continue about his day.
"Omi. Are ya really okay? Yer cough is abysmal and we're all disquieted. Ya should really go to a doctor." The couple were now sitting on their couch. Atsumu had an arm around his husband. Kiyoomi sighed and ran a slightly wrinkled hand turn his soft black hair. "I'll be alright, Atsumu. Don't worry about me. You have your own work to focus on." Kiyoomi said in a weak voice, his eyes never once meeting those of his husband beside him. Atsumu's eyebrows frowned at this statement. "Yer more important than anything Omi." Atsumu retorted before letting his arm drop to the other's small waist, resting his head on Kiyoomi's broad shoulders. Kiyoomi sighed and leaned his own head on his husband's as they stayed in silence. Quiet breaths and soft heartbeats were the only thing filling the air as they battled their own minds.
