Time went by so fast and there's only a few days left for the event. We were busier than before organizing and arranging a lot of stuff. We scheduled a week of organizing and preparing the location since the place itself was massive.

After what happened that time in the office with Nile, I avoided him like the plague. Thankfully, we seldom crossed our paths. He was not always in his office or in the building. He had a lot of business meetings outside and sometimes he's out of the country. It was pretty advantageous to me. But when he's there and seeks me out, I flee and pretended to be very busy with something. It was obvious that he noticed my evasion.

Nile had come to trust me with this project as I have noticed. He wasn't complaining anymore and instead added suggestions and ideas. And the way his eyes travelled to me during meetings, asking for my thoughts in it. He was actually relying on me. I also stopped provoking him since I didn't want to catch his attention anymore. But I still managed to catch it because of his frustration.

He wanted me.

I'm not sure if it's vice versa. The confession surprised me and although weeks had gone by, I'm still in a daze thinking about it. I don't think I'm ready for such a possessive man.

"What are you doing?" Caleb placed himself beside me while eyeing me questioningly. The event is the day after tomorrow. It will be held for two days so I had to make sure everyone was doing their job and everything was perfect.

"That stupid light is obstructing my view." I answered with a frown as I stared at the tilted light that wasn't the same position as others. I'm a bit of a perfectionist sometimes and this is one of those times.

"Take a break, will you? Everybody's having lunch right now and you're here worrying about a light that can be fixed later."

"You go get lunch. I'll fix this and catch up with you." While walking towards the ladder so I can position it just under the light.

"Kura."

"Director's orders."

He sighed. "Fine. I'll reserve lunch for you. You better eat alright?"

"Yes, ma'am." He rolled his eyes but went towards me anyways to help with the ladder. "Thanks. Now, go. You know I'm not going to budge unless I fix this."

He sighed again. "I know. That's why I'm not gonna touch that light unless you say so." He spoke with a hint of sarcasm. I just laughed. Caleb then left for his break.

My brief anxiety disappeared when I finally fixed the light. It was kind of stupid of me and Caleb was right when he said I could fix later on, better yet, I could let someone fix it for me. I really just didn't like this itchy feeling. I'm sure a lot of people can relate especially when you want everything to be perfect in your eyes.

"I hope you didn't stay here just to avoid me."

I flinched at his familiar voice. I sighed. "I was fixing the light, Mister Veselov." I then looked down when I sensed him below me. His coat was off and he was crossing his arms. The sleeves of his shirt were rolled up to his arms. "And don't pop like that out of nowhere. If I fall it's your fault." I snapped.

"Just come down here. Your assistant said you haven't eaten." I could see his eyebrows pulling together from here. His cat eyes narrowed even more.

I went down anyways knowing I have no choice when it comes to this overbearing man. "Careful." And I suddenly missed a step simultaneously with that word.

"Shit." He muttered.

I raised my head seeing that I was lying above him and he was below me with body flat on the floor. He safeguarded from the fall. He groaned as he removed his eye glasses. His other hand was still wrapped around my waist.

I could faintly smell him. I secretly buried my nose to his chest to inhale his scent. He needs to get rid of this cologne or else it's going to be added to the lists of my strange addiction.

"I said careful, Kura. Why the hell do you always provoke me?" His head raised to look at me while scolding.

My head snapped up swiftly, almost breaking my neck. "Of course, it was my intention to slip and fall so I could snap my neck and die." I then smack his chest hard. "You're such a piece of shit. You're the one who's always pissing me off."

"So you resort to violence when you run out of something original to say back." He slowly got up taking me along with him.

"Oh shut up. You know you're just the same." I retorted with an eye roll.

"You say that and you're here comfortably snuggled in my arms."

I scowled. "Let me go." I pushed and shook him off. Instead he tightened his hold on me. Both arms wrapped me like a hungry python.

"You've been avoiding me, lyuBImaya." I frowned. There's that word again. What the hell does that even mean? "You're lucky I've been busy but now you won't be able to escape from me."

"You're conceited if you think I've been avoiding you. I mean who are you to say that? A man who's clearly obsessed with me." I snapped.

Nile only chuckled. He then brought his hand to my face. His thumb stroked my cheek gently. He dipped his head to meet his lips with mine. I undoubtedly met him halfways and pressed my lips to his.

I suppose I did miss him.

We kissed for a while. It was slow, passionate and warm. Something unordinary for us since Nile had always been aggressive. If it does go on like this...

He withdrew first. His thumb stroked my cheek again, one that was hit by him a few months ago.

"I wasn't able to apologize to you when I accidentally hit you." My closed eyes automatically opened at his words. "Technically, you reap what you sow." I scowled. "And you didn't let me when you literally kept avoiding me."

I raised my hand to hit him but he stopped it mid air. His hand wrapped around my wrist. He smirked as if he one up me. I returned a sarcastic forced smile. My other hand was able to slap his face. His head tilted to the side because of the impact. I grinned mischievously, seeing the red print on his cheek.

"Well... I guess you need to be more-" I couldn't continue my speech when he suddenly kissed me... roughly and with fervor.

I moaned when he forcefully invaded his tongue through my mouth. I fought his tongue with equal dominance and ardor. Not wanting him to be in control, I rose a little and straddle his waist, knees supporting the ground. He was still sitting with his ass planted to the floor. Because of our position, I was able to hover above him. His arms wrapped around my waist tightly while both of my hands held his head as if to secure him so he couldn't go out beyond my control.

"Hey, director. You done there yet? Everyone's looking for you for a..." Caleb trailed when he saw us. "Whoa." His mouth wide open in shock.
