“Nile, wait. Stop.” My hand automatically pressed against his chest to stop him from kissing me.

His eyebrows furrowed. He was eyeing me in curiosity.

“I’m- I’m tired. Can we… can we not do it now?” I said through pants.

Nile only nodded in understanding. The Nile I know would’ve done it anyway but he knew I just got better and I made it as an excuse.

He kissed my cheek, lingering it for more than a few seconds before hugging me tightly in his arms. He closed his eyes and buried his head in between my shoulder and neck inhaling my scent right away.

I stilled. “You’re going to sleep here.” Although my statement was more of a question.

“This is my room. Where else will I sleep?” He murmured in response. He was starting to fall asleep so I resisted another argument.

I was no longer feeling sleepy. My mind was invaded with a lot of thoughts and my heart was feeling something I shouldn’t.

I forced my eyes to sleep and ignored the distraction. Maybe tomorrow, I’ll feel better. I was able to sleep despite the burden not going away.

The next day, I was able to wake up early in the morning. Though Nile was no longer beside me and the side of his bed had already gone cold. He was always an early riser which was one of our many opposites.

I stare at the now empty spot as I sit up. Will we sleep together every night that I’m here? I don’t think I can handle the sleeping arrangement for now.

I woke up still not able to shake off the feeling. I clenched my fists in frustration. I removed the quilt with roughness, got up and went straight to the bathroom. Maybe a shower will make me feel better.

As I looked through his closet for a change, I noticed there were now women’s underwear neatly placed at the left side of his huge closet. There were lots of them just beside his boxers and briefs. A vein suddenly popped in my head realizing that he still didn’t bring or buy me clothes.

Ugh! That stupid asshole! I’m going to fucking castrate him.

I went downstairs to search for him. My first instinct was telling me that he’s in the dining room. That or I’m just hungry and I just want to eat breakfast.

I heard voices when I was close to the entrance of the dining room. It was Nile’s and the other- my eyes widened when I heard her mom’s voice. I stopped near the door, pressing my back against the cold wall nervously, suddenly gaining cold feet.

Fuck. I knew it. This is his parents’ house, isn’t it? The property is just too big for him to live alone.

“I see you brought that woman here, my son. Surprising.”

I heard utensils clinking. Obviously they were having breakfast. I didn’t hear his father’s voice though. It’s either he was silent or absent.

“Are you just going to sit there… all quiet?”

“What do you want me to say? I’m eating, mother.”

“Tsk tsk tsk. Naughty boy. When it comes to that woman, it’s like someone pressed the mute button on your remote.”

“Mom-”

“Women come to you. You don’t bring women here, Nile. What makes that woman different for her to be worthy of staying here?”

“Not now, please.” Although he was being polite, I still heard the anger behind his calm tone. “You have no idea what she’d gone through.”

“Then enlighten me, my dear. Is she only a friend that you're only helping then?”

The way his mother talks makes me worry even more. She’s calm and collected. She’s too composed when obviously she’s interrogating Nile about me.

“I will not tell you anything if you’re going to be this annoying.” Nile retorted with an edge.

I heard Sara sigh. “I am now full. Eat properly, my dear. You have thinned.”

The sound of the chair screeched indicating her leave. The door to my side opened and in came Sara’s presence. She stopped as she saw me standing by the door.

“Oh my.” She said, not surprised by my presence. “I hope you are hungry, dear. Nile is still in there having breakfast. Do accompany him.” She was poised with voice and expression that had no hint of malice. I only nodded as a response and walked passed her towards the dining room.

It’s amazing how her mother could still be so modest despite her obvious dislike towards me.

During breakfast, I was pretty reserved. That’s only because I was having a hard time how to tell him. He was done eating but he waited for me to finish and that’s all the more reason to make me feel even guiltier.

When I was done, we went back to his bedroom. Surprisingly, he didn’t find any suspicion of my silence. Hell, I feel suspicious about myself. He and I were always bickering and this is the first time we’re quiet. I guess his mother’s words hit him.

“Nile.” I finally spoke as we arrived at his bedroom. “We need to talk.”

“About what?” He asked plainly.

“I can’t stay here.” He stiffened.

“You heard her.” He then stomped towards me and grabbed my shoulder with both of his hands. “Don’t listen to her. She’s usually like that-”

“To who? To all your women.” I interjected with my arms crossed.

I narrowed my eyes when he wasn’t answering and from the looks on his face, it was a yes.

It only confirmed what Sara told me. I was only one of his many women.

I don’t know why I’m furious about it when I treated this man like my fuck buddy. Fuck! What makes me different from him?

“You know what, I think it’s best if I stay with Belle. I’m sure my presence would be more than appreciated there.” I start to turn to leave but he stops me by grabbing my arm.

“Don’t be ridiculous. Do you want to be found by that lunatic?” He chided.

“Maybe you should go ask your mom if your little bitch is allowed to be here.” I challenged him with venom dripping in my tone.

“Will you stop being so childish for once? This is your safety, your life we are talking about. For god’s sake, Kura. You got yourself in danger twice now. The other one almost losing your life. Remember?” I straightened at the fact that he was right.

Shit, I almost forgot that someone tried to kill me a couple of months ago. I barely recalled it when the mark in my stomach was fading. I had used very expensive ointment just so the damage could leave no trace. It will also make me stop from remembering.

I wasn’t able to speak back a retort when the sound of a knock on the door beat me to it. Willard, the old butler, who I’ve finally known his name, spoke behind the door.

“Young master, you have a visitor.”

Nile glared at me. “You stay here. Got that?” I rolled my eyes in response. “Kura-”

“Just get the fuck out.” He sighed before leaving.

When the door was finally shut, I immediately searched for my phone which Nile gave me since I no longer have mine with me. The number was unfortunately changed since Jacob could potentially find me with the same number.

I dialled Colton’s number. “Colton Steele.” He answered in a carefree manner.

“It’s me. Could you do me a favor?”

“Rose?” He asked almost in disbelief. “Okay, name it?”

“I purchased a car. Could you get it for me? I’ll text you the address.” While pacing back and forth in the room.

“Sure…” He drawled. “And where exactly am I going to deliver it?”

“Come here and pick me up.” I answered nonchalantly.

“What?! Why?”
