The day went by so fast and I already miss getting pampered the whole day. We went to a spa and salon for hair and make up right after buying our dresses. The best part of the day was the whole body massage. After four months of hell, god knows how much I needed that.

Belle and I made sure Quinn didn't pay for our dresses this time. Because we insisted, Quinn was able to spill the truth why she kept buying stuff for us. It's because she's going to get married soon and have a family of her own. She was so thankful that we've been nothing but supportive of her. She felt that the things she gave us weren't enough of how thankful she was.

Belle and I reassured her that she too was very supportive of us. I had to highlight the fact that her naggings to me were enough. I think that part broke the emotional atmosphere she was emitting.

I chose a gold mermaid dress that'll probably blind your poor eyes because of how shiny and glittery it was. Half of my breasts were almost exposed because of the plunging v-neckline with thin straps supporting the gown. My whole back was also bare emphasising my wings tattoos.

Quinn and Belle were in total awe of what I've chosen for the party. They were totally envious. All I'd like to say was, thank god I wasn't married! Quinn, on the other hand, was so impressed with my taste that she admitted she lost this round.

I remember back then when we were in college, I used to be her partner in dressing up lavishly. I wasn't exactly like her who shops not a few bags but a whole store. I dressed like that occasionally, of course. But it was hard to work on the field when you wear tight skirts, blouses and dresses so I stuck to my t-shirts and jeans.

I get judged a lot with how I look so I had to cover up most of my tats. So summer isn't my friend at all.

My hair was put into a bit of a messy and loose ponytail that was slightly curled. A bit of bangs framed my face, falling to the sides.

Belle looked so cute with her navy blue cocktail dress. Somehow it fits her personality so much.

Quinn wore an a-line tulle lace gray grown. The neckline was not that deep unlike mine which I'm sure she was considering his fiance's feelings. Either way, she'll still grab a lot of attention. Tyler would surely hurry to go home with her.

The both suggested that I should cover up my tats in my arms and leave the wings from my back. Since I didn't want to catch too much attention, I agreed. I think it was such an amazing idea as well. I looked more mysterious like that.

We arrived at the party wherein the majority of the guests were already there. The party was held in one of Veselov's most expensive and biggest hotels. They had to arrange the biggest ballroom because of the amount of guests attending this event.

We went in a limousine- courtesy of Quinn and Tyler. Of course, with me being the fifth wheel.

I was blinded by the lights flashing non stop when I stepped out.

"Damn, Kura. I think you're the darling of the night." Kyle said in a jokingly manner which made Belle and Quinn laugh. They surely revelled at the state I was in. True friends.

I was covering my eyes with my hands when the camera flash didn't stop as we walked on the red carpet. The two couples walked arm in arm, Quinn behind me and Belle in front.

"Are you alright?" Tyler asked although in mockingly. The slight chuckle could even be heard.

"You know, you should be thanking me since I stole the spotlight. If your soon-to-be wife was, I don't know what you'll do, brother." I teased him in a sarcastic manner which was successful because he immediately scowled.

Quinn giggled. "Oh stop it. I don't want to go home early."

I guffawed and that in no doubt was captured by the paparazzis. "It will be my pleasure." She pinched me playfully.

We finally reached the entrance with huge smiles on our faces. It disappeared when I saw Belle's look who was ahead of us and had been standing still the whole time.

"What's wrong?" I asked with a frown. She then nodded to a certain direction which I followed her line of sight.

He was staring at me. Eyes and mouth wide and in awe. Obviously in shock.

"Kur." Quinn broke the staring contest we just had. "What is he doing here?"

"Maybe you could go and ask him." Belle suggested. Although I know what she wants me to do. The talk that we never had.

"Not now. I want to spend the night celebrating, not talking about issues." I then walked ahead to find some drinks. The couples followed me nonetheless.

While the three of us had made a little group, the two men had their own world as well. It's only a matter of time that the two will get further away. Considering there are alot of businessmen gathered here today, their night would be filled with a lot of discussion about boring business as usual.

"Aren't you guys going to accompany your men?"

"Ugh, I'll pass. Business this, business that. The only time that it's impossible to mention it is during sex." I laugh at Quinn's remark. Belle giggled with a blushing face.

"That mouth needs a filter. Tyler needs to hear about this." I teased.

"He doesn't have the right to get mad or... or... or no sex." She replied sassily although with a stutter. The girl apparently doesn't know about dares and threats.

"Man... you suck at trash talk." I shook my head in fake disappointment. Quinn tried to retort but she was interrupted.

"Kura." We turned to the source of the voice. "Girls." He smiled at them.

"Hi, Nixon." Belle greeted back.

"Nixon, how are you? I haven't seen you in years." Quinn spoke with a forced smile.

"Yeah, just got a little bit busy with work." He responded with shyness. His eyes always travelled to me.

"Honestly, we're surprised you're here." She stated rather frankly.

"I'm sure you do. I just got back actually. My friend invited me to come with him. He's been interested in Veselov Industries for a while."

"Who's that friend?" Belle and I suddenly felt awkward. Quinn was obviously attacking him head on. We were just silent and didn't know what to say after her ominous remarks. Sometimes she just reminds me of her father so much. But the attitude is highly appreciated.

"He's... ah-"

"Director!" Caleb hollered as he approached us, cutting off Nixon's answer. He suddenly stopped when he looked at me from head to foot. "Whoa. Holy damn hell. You look gorgeous, Kura." The girls and I laughed.

"You're such a bumpkin." I pinched his cheek which he squirmed. "Where's your date?"

"She's in the restroom. I should probably get her now. I just came for my attendance." We chuckled. "If you need anything, call me."

I shook my head in disapproval. "Go have fun, Caleb. I'm sure we don't need you tonight." Belle and Quinn greeted him before he left to get his girlfriend.

I whirled around when I realized he was still here. "Right. You're still here." I sighed.

"And we need to talk."

Straight to the point, I see.
