Quinn“Why the hell did you just tell us now?!” Nile’s voice boomed against the walls of my office.
“Nile, calm down.” I tried to stand between Nile and Colton. He was on the verge of lunging at him. He was fuming and I’m afraid he’ll do something that would impale Colton. Both physically and figuratively.
As soon as Colton explained the truth, I immediately called Nile. He left his ongoing meeting and rushed here, furious I might add. I believe he really will turn this city upside down for her.
I didn’t know what had happened between Kura and Nile but it seems he has deeper feelings that I might let on. It was concerning me since I’ve never seen him like this before. He was losing control.
“Calm down?! This bastard knows where she is and didn’t tell us right away.” He bellowed.
“I suggest you calm your shit. You think your temper will help find her?” His nostrils flared even more at Colton’s blatant response. “I didn’t know she was missing until Quinn called me. How can I worry for her when she texted you guys that she was going on a trip. We all know how she can be.”
Nile steps forwards but I covered Colton despite my height.
I didn’t think that there would come a time for me to be the mediator.
“Nile.” I warned through gritted teeth. “This is no time for you to pounce on someone. Please… calm down. What we need to do is track where Jacob is right now.”
“I think it’s best we go find Kura instead. If that man is really a drug lord as Kura had witnessed, we’ll be in big trouble if we crossed his path.” Belle finally interjected after being quiet the whole time. She was pensive while sitting in one of the couches in my office.
“That man will have no match for me.”
I was honestly a bit surprised at Nile’s declaration. He was never arrogant. He wasn’t humble as well but he doesn’t flaunt his power or his status too much. Though he looked like it, that was because he was quiet and always had a straight face. He was in short aloof. His crazy temper right now even surprised me.
“She’s right.” Colton said. “We need to be careful if not, he will hurt one of us. He already threatened Kura once.”
Nile suddenly strode towards me like a predator to his prey. For the first time, I was scared of what he might do. Shiver ran down my spine as I saw his menacing look and the fury in his eyes.
“Your insane ex will pay with his life.” He then stormed out, slamming my door shut. The walls shook from the force.
“Damn.” Colton spoke after the long silence. We were all shocked from his outburst.
He then sat while sighing in exhaustion. He rubbed his face with his palm and brushed his hair in frustration. He was tired and the bags in his eyes proved that he hadn’t slept thinking about our best friend.
“I hope she didn’t run away because of that possessive idiot.”
I raised a brow at his comment. I crossed my arms in front of my chest. “Did she mention their relationship to you?”
“No, but that guy went to my cafe and dragged Kura out… possessively.” We both stare at him with knitted eyebrows. He shrugged. “You think the only reason he was acting like that was because I didn’t tell you guys earlier? He was always jealous because I was close with her.” There was a small smirk of amusement showing his face while recalling.
I pinched my nose in exasperation. Nile was full of surprises that I’m starting to get used to it.
I sighed. “I still need to tell our parents that we’re going to postpone the wedding.”
Colton didn’t hide his surprise. “You… you’re going to postpone your wedding?” He asked in wide eyes.
“I don’t think we’re in the mood for celebration when Kura is nowhere to be found.” I said with dejection.
“I would have done the same thing.” Belle concurred.

Kura
Lately, I’ve been waking up earlier and sleeping later. No matter how many days and weeks had passed, I still couldn’t find myself sleeping comfortably in this bed or find comfort and peace in this room. Nowhere in this house.
My eyes slowly peeled at the additional warmth I was feeling. I felt something that was similar to lips that was pressing against my neck and my shoulder. I noticed there was an arm wrapped around my waist and a body behind me.
“Jacob.” I murmured.
“Good morning, love.” His voice was soft and filled with affection.
“What are you doing here?” I ignored his advances and only froze at my current position. I didn’t want to do something that would only irk him so I let him do whatever he wants.
I was surprised that he was doing this early in the morning. He only comes here and kisses me in my sleep before going to the dining room and have his breakfast. Sometimes we eat together. Sometimes we don't.
“I’ll be going out for a while. I’m going to savor my time with you before leaving.”
I just let him be. He kept kissing my neck and my shoulder and inhaling my scent. I didn’t dare turn and face him. I was thankful enough that he wasn’t doing anything beyond that. He was honoring my request or just that I was quick enough to stop him.
“Kiss me.” His hand went to my jaw to turn my head to face him. He was slowly moving his body to hover me. He placed himself in between my legs, spreading it to accommodate him as his lips gently met mine.
My hands were nowhere interested in touching him. It wasn’t the same with the Russian bastard who wears nothing but a scowl on his feminine face.
He kissed me greedily, not even letting me breathe properly. He deepened it when he noticed my slight reluctance. He let his tongue invade my mouth as his hand was taking its time to move towards my shorts.
I felt him lift the waistband, gradually pulling it down. I immediately grabbed his wrist to pull it away but he didn’t budge. Instead he slowly inserted his hand inside. My eyes widened and I was on full alert at what he was doing.
“Stop!” I yelled as soon as I evaded his ongoing kisses. “Jacob, don’t!”
He grunted while retracting his hand. He didn’t move away but propped his elbows in each of my sides instead to put only little space between us.
He sighed in frustration. “I got carried away.”
I frowned. “You always do.” I said as I looked away, avoiding his face. His face will only bring me additional fury.
However he was looking at me so intensely. “Let me touch you just this time.”
“No.” I answered, still not looking at him.
I could feel the anger radiating off of him at my response. I turned my head to finally look at him. As much as possible, I try to avoid making him angry.
“I’m trying, Jacob. I really am… and I’m slowly getting there. If you force me to do it, then you’ll never get what you wanted from me.”
I realized that he wanted me to like him. To have feelings for him. That just goes being his woman. But I can’t simply give that to him right away.
He stared at me. But now I could see that his anger dissipated as he gave me a pensive look. He sighed and pressed his body against mine. His head laid on my shoulder.
I felt him inhale my scent as he closed his eyes.
