Possible Friendship(s)

I woke up the next morning repeating the same mantra as I did yesterday. I am not going to think about you know who and give this day a fresh start. 

Luckily Uncle couldn't make it yesterday so I didn't have to face him. Today I'm ready. Finn would be here in about an hour, I'll first go meet Uncle at his office and then I'd be off to the University. 

So I quickly get ready, chat with Mel for a little while before heading towards the door. I thank God for saving me the "pleasure" of seeing his face in the morning. Within fifteen minutes I find myself standing before one of the most beautiful office buildings I've seen in my life.

Finn tells me that the receptionist would guide me through for Uncle's cabin, so, I go in and the first thing that pops into my mind is that how in the world do they find such good interior designers. If this place would have been a person, it would surely be love at first sight... well at least for me. Before I could drool all over, I went to the front desk.

"Hi! Could you please tell me where would I find Mr. Daniels?" I asked the lady.

"Do you have an appointment with him Ma'am?" she asks me.

"He's expecting me here. I don't have an appointment per se but he had asked me drop by at his office." I tell her.

"I would have to first confirm that Ma'am before I can send you in. May I have your name?" 

I give her my name and upon getting the confirmation I go to his office. Uncle's floor only had his cabin and what I suppose, a sitting area for his secretary and a few other things. The secretary was not there at the moment so I directly knocked on Uncle's cabin door.

"Come in."

He sees me and gets up to greet me.

"Hello dear. How are you?" 

"I'm good uncle. I hope your morning is good."

"Oh it is. I'm sorry for cancelling for yesterday." He takes out a file from his desk and continues, "There you go."

I take the file from his hand and open it to just have a look. 

"Holy Shit!" I accidentally curse in front of him. "I'm really sorry Uncle. I didn't mean to."

"Oh no its okay. I get it." He waves it out .

I get back to the file, "This is bad. Such fine print and about 500 pages? They really didn't want him a chance to back out." I say as I go through it.

"Uncle I'll go through it and start working on this." 

"Great! I have asked Mira, my secretary to set up a table for you on this floor itself. You can work here whenever you want to and work from home whenever you like. It is totally up to you."

"Thank you Uncle. I really appreciate this."

"I know you do. Now hurry up or you'll be late for your classes." I give him a grateful smile and leave for the University with Finn. 

I enter the first lecture hall and take an empty seat in the corner. 

"Hey, is this seat taken?" I look up to find Calum asking this question.

I smile, "No it's not. You may sit here." 

"Thank you Yukta!"

Just then the professor entered and we started to take down notes. As soon as the lecture ended Calum sighed, "Man this is going to be so much more work than I thought."

I slightly laughed and said, "Yeah this is going to be quite tough. Are you other lectures also similar?"

"Oh no, not at all. By the way if you don't have lecture now why don't you join me and my friends. We always meet nearby during our breaks. Let me introduce you to them."

I didn't even think for about a second before responding "Sure". I mean I might possibly make friends here so the time I spend in London wouldn't be as tough and lonely. I smile to myself thinking about these possible friendships.
