Beep, beep, beep. I hear my alarm clock ringing.
Everything from last night comes back to me like a knife. I flop back down on the pillow and tears stream down my face.
Wait, why aren't I at the hospital with Harry?
I hear a knock on my door.
"Abby! You're going to be late!" My mom shouts.
Late?
"For what?" I shout back.
"Um, school?" She answers.
"But school was yesterday."
"Yes, Thursday. Now it's Friday."
"Friday? That was yesterday."
"Abby, I don't know what you're trying to do but you're going to be late for school. Now hurry," I hear her leave and I roll out of bed.
I throw on sweats and a hoodie, apply light makeup, and throw my hair up into a ponytail.
"Abby! Charlotte's here to pick you up!"
I grab my backpack and run down the stairs. I walk out the door, and there's Charlotte, sitting in her truck.
"Ayy, Abs!" Charlotte hands me a donut and I hand her a coffee. "Ayy, Charles," I say cautiously. She looks at me funny and shakes her head.
"So, you excited for prom?" She asks me and I swallow my donut and look at her.
"Wasn't prom last night?" I ask her.
"Um, no?" She answers, laughing.
"Oh, that was probably just a dream," I laugh with her. What if yesterday was a dream?
"You you're going with Niall, right?" She asks, looking at me.
"He's my boyfriend. Why wouldn't I be going with him?" I ask her. Oh wait. We broke up. I do my best not to cry and she shrugs.
"I dunno. Maybe you guys broke up or something."
I sigh. Yes we did, but apparently yesterday didn't happen.
We pull into the student parking and we get out.
"I look fine, right?" I ask her, just like yesterday. She nods.
"You always look perfect, Abs. What about me?" She twirls around in the same clothes she wore yesterday.
"How is it you make heeled shoes look comfortable?" She laughs and we walk into school
"Abby! Hi!" The freshman girl from yesterday waves to me. I wave back and smile.
"Hey, Charlotte!"
"Morning, Abby."
"Hi Charlotte!"
Well, at least I'm still a queen of Jefferson High School.
"See you later, Abs," Charlotte waves to me and heads off to her first period geometry. I wave bye and go to art class.
