JAKE'S POV
I avoided mom when I went down. I didn't bother to eat breakfast and I went straight to school.
Upon arriving, I slumped on my seat. I rested my head on my table. To be honest, the slap hurts a bit. I think mom's wearing their wedding ring so the slap really did hurt. It left a mark.
I was about to sleep when I heard Joohaeng speak.
"Yoh! Sunghoon?! What happened to your face?! Why akfbaihdjsj—"
Huh? I looked up and I saw Sunghoon covering Joohaeng's mouth. Wait. What happened to him? I stood up.
"Shut up will you?"
"Why are you so brutal? Like—"
"What happened to your face?"
He froze. He glared at Joohaeng before he turned to me. Eyes smiling but I can see the mark on his cheek. It's way more obvious than mine.
"What happened to that?"
"It's just a scratch. I fell a while ago."
He's lying.
"Lying is bad Hoonie. You should know that."
I did not wait for his reply. I dragged him to the clinic.
"No Jakey it's alright. It's just a scratch."
I faced him.
"A SCRATCH? Are you blind or something? Maybe I'm monochromatic but I can still see that dark shade! I know it's not just a scratch!"
I positioned him to sit.
"Don't you dare stand up."
"It's fine."
"No it's not fine not until you tell me what happened."
He looked at me.
"We won't leave here not until you say so."
I approached him. Holding the tip of his mask, I started to apply the medicine.
The color rush is showing slowly. But it's fine. I can still endure it. I just need to finish applying the medicine and wait for his explanation.
SUNGHOON'S POV
I didn't want him to know about it because I don't want him to worry. But since he saw me already, I guess I really can't hide it.
I really didn't fell. I was just surprised, on my way to class, somebody just punched me all of a sudden. I didn't saw who but they just punched me and left.
"Are you okay?"
I asked him. He keeps on blinking. I can see the color rush slowly processing on his eyes. It's very pretty.
"I c-can manage"
I stared at him. I can't just tell him about it. I have a feeling it has something to with his mom.
"You better prepare your explanation after this."
That's it. How am I supposed to divert—
"OW!"
He pushed it too hard. I hissed. And my mask went down. I looked at him.
Wait. He's not fainting yet?
"You're not fainting yet?"
"Let's wait."
I stared at him. He's still not fainting and it's been 5 minutes already.
"I guess I'm finally used to it."
He really looks okay now. I like it.
"But that doesn't mean you can run away. WHAT HAPPENED?"
Why is he so worried? Don't tell me he has a guess too?
"If I tell you, will you believe me?"
"You keep on saying that. If I don't trust you, you think I will do the things that I did last night?"
I can feel him get irritated. Okay he's serious.
"It's nothing."
I looked at him and he's just looking at me. Okay he'll get angry for sure.
"Heyyyy."
I was about to talk to him when he stood up. Of course I grabbed his hand.
"Let my hand go."
"Jakey."
He tried to pull it but no. Why would I let him go?
"I'll tell it to you soon okay? Please understand me."
I want him to understand that I need to find a proof that it's really his mother. I don't want him to think that I'm just accusing her.
