Chapter 19 And To Our Own Way

Ash sprinted across the battlefield, bblocking and dodging the Aura Spheres that were thrown at him. He leapt into the stands and started running towards Serena. Grunts tried holding Ash down but he kept running through. Serena was being held at gunpoint by a grunt who was not looking at Ash. Ash leapt at the grunt only to be tackled to the ground by Calem. The grunt then noticed Ash and loaded his hun. He grabbed Serena and pointed the gun at her head and started walking away. Then a Charizard swooped down and kicked the grunt away from Serena. Kiawe helped Serena on and looked to Ash who smiled.

"Get out of here!" Ash commanded to them. "Take Pikachu too!"

Pikachu used Iron Tail to fling Calem off of Ash then jumped onto Charizard. Charizard then took off carrying Kiawe, Serena and Pikachu, leaving Ash to fight Calem alone.

Pikachu's POV

I ran through the horde of Pokemon battling each other, helping in any way I could. With me was Serena and Sylveon. We have been out here battling for around ten minutes, and in all honesty, I am getting really tired. Then heard Ash telling me to use Aura Sphere. But I cant do that! Unless... I gave it a try but to no avail. Then again and again, until... A blue ball formed at the base of my tail and I heard surprised gasps from the grunts surrounding. I concentrated all of the extra energy onto the ball and it grew and grew. I then threw it directly at the ground causing a shockwave of blue energy to knock out the grunts and their Pokemon. Then I felt a wave of pain flow through my body and I reverted back to normal. Then we all saw a massive explosion from the arena. Without wasting any time we ran into the arena and saw...

3rd Person POV

Ash and Calem were standing in a crater with blood dripping from their mouths, noses and foreheads. They both were panting heavily and had their arms drooped in front of them, but they held their death glare. Then a helicopter came and dropped a rope for Calem to grab. Calem grabbed it and they took off. Ash then fell to his knees, panting harder than before. Pikachu, Sylveon and Serena ran to his side and tried to help him up. They gently pushed and pulled him up until he was shakily standing, using Serena as a support. All stood still, the fighting had stopped and the grunts retreated.

"You know what?" Ash asked.

"No. What?" Serena responded.

"Im hungry."

Serena rolled her eyes and chuckled.

"Of course you are."

Hala then walked up to make sure everybody is alright.

"I am completely fine." Ash said as his knees buckled a little.

"Ya sure." Hala agreed sarcastically.

"What was the death count?" Ash asked in a much more serious tone.

"That is none of your concern, Champion." Hala responded.

"It is of my concern Hala!" Ash roared. "Innocent people died today, I cant let that slip my mind. I could not save them all. I was too weak. Calem got away and so did most of the grunts. Either you tell me or I will go count those bodies by myself! And trust me you wont be able to take them for a long time because I suck at math!"

"Fine, we had over a thousand injured and 469 casualties." Hala said.

Ash cursed under his breath.

"Pallet Town." Ash muttered.

"What was that?" Serena asked.

"Pallet Town!" Ash exclaimed. "Pikachu, we have to go to the lab! Serena, you come too!"
