Chapter 7

Ash walked back to the Pokemon Centers lobby and sat down away from his friends. Gou and Chloe looked at him with concern and could only imagine the things they both said. Serena on the other hand was not upset in the slightest about all the things she said. In fact she felt like she had said all the truth. She thought he would not care because of the fact he ran off with no trace of where he was. She assumed in that time he would have learned to not care about what others said due to him training and whatnot. But Ash was feeling broken and worn down. He felt empty and he was beating himself up in his thoughts. Gou and Chloe kept looking at him and then they heard a pop from his Pokeball. Then Lucario appeared and smacked Ash across the face and growled. Gou was about to get up and see if was ok but Chloe shook her head. Gou sat back down and gave a questioning look.

"I want to see how this plays out." Chloe said.

Gou nodded then went back to watching.

Back with Ash and Lucario...

'Master, why are you thinking like this?' Lucario asked through Aura.

Ash spoke out loud since using Aura consumed a lot of energy since he is just learning.

"I am thinking the truth." Ash responded.

Lucario shook his head and looked back to Serena. He then growled.

'It's because of the girl isn't it?' Lucario asked.

Ash scoffed and looked at the ceiling.

"It does not matter if it's about Serena." Ash said. "I caused the whole situation. We both said some things and it ended in her saying she hates me. I just need to move on."

Lucario looked confused.

'Move on from what?' He asked.

Ash chuckled and sighed.

"Something that I learnt around a month ago." Ash explained.

Gou's face went from listening intently to slight panic.

"He never told her." Gou muttered..

"Never told her what?" Chloe asked.

"Ash asked me why he was feeling weird around Serena so I told him it was called love." Gou explained. "He misunderstood at first but I clarified it. He was supposed to tell her over dinner when we were at the park with the Pokemon."

"Thats why he is so broken." Chloe muttered.

Serena having heard her name had started listening to the conversation between Ash and Lucario.

"Lucario please stop pressuring me for an answer." Ash begged.

'No master.' Lucario said.' It helps to talk about things.'

"It does not help to talk for me!" Ash shouted angrily. "It brings back the memories! Ever wonder why I dont talk about my friends much? Because it brings the memories back! The times when they left! Ever wonder why I dont talk about my encounters with Legendary Pokemon? Because ninety percent of the time I die or one of my friends die! The only reason I am still here today is by sheer luck that a magical being or place is there!"

At the far table Serena listened intently.

"He sounds so broken..." Serena muttered to himself.

'I am still confused on what this has to do with the girl.' Lucario said.

"Just read my thoughts already." Ash muttered.

Lucario nodded and concentrated hard. He then gasped and shot his eyes open.
