The Grace Of Amour In Galar (slow editing)

Chapter 21

Ash woke to the chill of the wind blowing through the cave. He opened his eyes and looked around. Serena was still cuddled up to him whilst Pikachu was sound asleep on top of him. He pulled out his phone to check the time, only to find that the cold had drained its power.

"Now would be a good time to have Rotom with me." Ash muttered in frustration.

He also noticed everybody else was asleep. If he moved Serena would wake up as well. He then heard some faint cries for help. He shot his head up, terrifying Pikachu.

"Pikachu, somebody needs help!" Ash shouted.

Pikachu shot up and unzipped the sleeping bag so Ash could get out. Unsurprisingly, Serena woke up and opened her eyes only to see Ash scurrying around to get ready.

"Where are you going?" She asked.

Ash stopped in froze in his tracks. He slowly turned to her and gave a warm smile.

"Just wake up Gou, Chloe and Aurora and be prepared for anything." Ash answered and sprinted out of the cave with Pikachu on his shoulder.

Ash struggled to push through the deep snow in his path. The calls for help were getting closer. Soon he found the source of the calls. A brunette was leaning over a ravine, clearly trying to help something out.

"Whats wrong?" Ash asked, startling the girl.

"M-my Piplup fell into this ravine while following a Yamper." The girl answered.

Ash nodded and also leaned over the ravine, trying to assess the situation. Ash got back up and faced Pikachu.

"Pikachu, I need you to bring me my bag." Ash said. "Inside I have an escape rope. I can use it to help Piplup out."

Pikachu playfully saluted and ran off.

"Sorry for not properly introducing myself." The girl said. "My name is Verity, from Twinleaf town in Sinnoh!"

"Nice to meet you Verity, I am Ash Ketchum from Pallet Town." Ash responded.

"Y-you mean, Champion of Alola?" Verity asked.

Ash nodded.

"T-thank you sir, it is an honor." Verity stuttered nervously.

"Dont be so formal Verity, just treat me like anybody else." Ash said.

Verity smiled and nodded. Then Pikachu came back, but this time he was not alone. Him and Bulbasaur were flying aboard Charizard. Once they landed Pikachu explained.

(Pokespeach translated)

"First of all, you did not have an escape rope in your bag. Second of all you lied about buying more ketchup. But I brough Bulbasaur and Charizard to help."

"Sounds great buddy, thanks!" Ash responded. "Bulbasaur, I need you to use Vine Whip as a rope. Verity's Piplup is stuck and he needs help."

Bulbasaur nodded and helped Piplup out. Piplup thanked everybody then jumped into Verity's arms.

"Come on Verity, after all that shouting for help you must be a little tired." Ash said. "We can go meet some of my friends."

Back at the cave

Ash and Verity just got back to the cave. They walked in and all eyes were on Ash.

"Why are you guys staring at me?" Ash asked nervously.

"Who's the girl Ash?" Serena asked.

"I am Verity, from Twinleaf Town. Ash helped save my Piplup who was stuck. He then invited me here to meet you guys."
