{Prologue}

    A quiet night descends onto the Fandelon forest as its native woodland animals tuck away in their burrows with much haste in order to secure themselves a peaceful passage into tomorrow's morning.

    It is widely known amongst creatures of Fandelon that, with the coming of night, so too come the monsters that hide amidst its shadows. And many are shadows to which they may appear, being cast by towering Redwood trees looming over the grassy plains on which they sprout from. Through their mighty leaves the moonlight is escorted by the cold midnight winds- much to the discomfort of the dainty insects that call these leaves home.

    Their bodies freeze from the ever chilling gales as they search for night partners to grant them warmth. Though search they may find they may not for a rupture in the sky long above their heads sends them scurrying back into the homes hidden in the Redwood bark. A shockwave of great proportions cascades across the boscage of wooden guardians standing sturdy in its wake.

    Earth shakes. Heaven fractures. A gust of wind hails down onto the expansive hillocks of which mighty Redwoods are summoned. And in its center falls a large male figure plummeting from the sky, his body cloaked head to toe in a set of pure white plate armor muddied with the redness of blood as he hurtles towards the forest floor; not but a moment of time passes before the knightly figures decent unions with solid ground- a small, circular meadow clearing in the woods acts as his landing site.

    So too did no time pass for the swaying dandelions soon to be obliterated by the impending catastrophic collision. And obliterated they were as the man in white armor impacted against them. The shockwave former airborne resonates against the dirt and soil, the very plates of the Earth shaking in its wake as a tempest of dust and debris tornados from the once was field of flowers.

    The creatures native to Fandelon shield themselves in the storm of smoke and ruble, peeking through to the other side in an attempt to lay their eyes on the damage caused. The smoke fades but a moment later as it is carried away by the strong nightly winds so that the curious animals may finally spot the outline of the fallen knight staggering to his feet; his strength threatens to give way under the strain of his injuries apparent via the blood seeping through every crack in his armor. What metal plates of his attire remain untarnished by his own gore reflect in the moonlight, enchanting many of the more critters that happen to look upon it through the fading sea of dust.

    Sent back again are the forest inhabitants when out of the nearly vanished mist another large figure appears, falling from the sky after the knight that had descended before it and growls as it is hunched over like that of a rabid animal. It lands upon the peak of the crater newly formed from the white knights crash and burn, its dark crimson eyes locking onto the mans damaged frame. The beasts form is cloaked in a thick black aura that engulfs its frame like smoke. The snarling monster roars and screeches aloud down at the armored knight as he desperately tries to regain his strength- the creature's bones shifting and cracking in its tar like skin.

    The white knight's bones crack the same, though in his case from the many injuries evident via the blood seeping from his armor. Still so the knight holds his broken arm firmly, every fiber of his being tensing further from rest in preparation to fight for his life. And fight for his life the knight must as the demon swiftly lunges forward a moment later, a guttural scratch escaping its unhinged jaws; its serrated fang like teeth bending forward as if reaching for the armored knight themselves.

    Through the air it clawed, and through the air it soared; the distant howl of werewolves and the faint cackle of hags lends sound to the demon's attack. A trail of fragmented land follows the creature's pounce, slashing its dagger-like claws mid air. However, quickly the knight reacts; he throws his helm towards the ground, just nearly missing the creature's swipe, sending it stumbling forward.
