~Mary Jay~
"One date."
"No."
"Please?"
"Don't like beggars."
"C'mon."
"No."
Jax sighed he slouched back into his seat. He'd been trying to get me to go out with him this entire period. As soon as class started, he had to choose the seat next to me, much to my demise.
"Why not?"
"I'm not into blondes, Jax."
"Have you ever been with a blonde?"
"I've been with a lot of people."
"That didn't answer my question."
I threw my head back and groaned in frustration, "Do you ever stop talking?"
"I'll stop if you say yes."
"I'd rather amputate both my legs and strangle myself with them."
"C'mon, don't be such a-"
"I will set your entire dorm on fire. Choose your next words wisely." I looked at him intensely. He tensed slightly and looked away from my glare.
"What if we just hung out as friends?" He suggested.
God, save me.
"You and I both know that won't end well."
"But what if it does?"
"You're idea of 'well' is getting me in your bed. My idea of well is committing assault, we're 2 different people, Jax."
"I can set things on fire. Specifically, you're heart."
Oh my Lord.
"Stop talking."
"I just-"
"It wasn't a suggestion, it was a demand."
I could still feel his stare on me as I looked directly at the board for a few seconds. Soon enough, he let out a huff before doing the same.
Finally.
As soon as the bell rung, I darted out of the class due to Jax being the parasite he is. He wasn't the worst I guess, but he was definitely annoying. I'd probably get bored of him easily, and that wasn't something I'd put either of us through.
Thankfully, my next class was science so I had Mr. Rogers; he was beginning to be one of my favorite teachers, even if he wasn't that eager to see Beck and I every day.
I twirled the ring on my finger as I walked, taking in the sun which beamed through the windows above the lockers; If they were any lower, students would no doubt break them. When I got to my destination, I pushed the door open whimsically as I held my bag on both shoulders.
Not again.
I stopped in my tracks as I stared at the scene in front of me. There stood Mateo and the other brunette girl—Trinity. She looked like she was going onto him and he looked slightly tensed, almost as if he didn't want to do it.
I smiled awkwardly as I looked between the pair, "Hello."
Mateo looked at me with wide eyes before returning expressionless, "Mary Jay, why're you here?" His face was calm but his words were harsh.
"This is her? God, Naiomi was right. You are annoying." Trinity pushed off of Mateo and was now standing on her own.
"Good to know I'm the topic of your conversations," I averted my gaze to Mateo again, "And this is my science class."
