11. Surprise

Stella's POV:

I'm with Destiny and we're going to the hospital to visit Chris. We were calling Jordan like crazy all morning to ask her if she was gonna come but we got no answer. "Should we just go to her house?" Destiny suggested. "Maybe, I'll try a few more times." I said and she nodded. I kept calling until I finally got an answer. "Hello?" I heard a voice say, it wasn't Jordan but I recognized it enough to know that it was Asher. "Hey, Asher?" I asked just to know for sure it's him. "Yup." He replied, I was a little confused on why he answered and not Jordan but i'm just gonna go with it. "Can Jordan come to the hospital to see Chris like right now?" I asked him and he took a minute to reply. "She's not feeling good today sorry so she can't come." He said and I understood why he answered now. "Oh ok." I said bye to him and told him to tell Jordan to get better soon. I told Destiny that she isn't coming and she understood. It wasn't like Jordan though, Chris has been in hospital before and she came even though she didn't feel good. But that was like two years ago so I don't know. We arrived at the hospital. "Here we go." Destiny said before walking into the door. I laughed at her. "I thought it was automatic!" She exclaimed. "The other door is." I told her and she gave me a confused look. "What's the difference?" She asked. "We went in the other door to go straight to Chris's room, this is reception." I told her and she let out a 'oh' of realization. I opened the door for her and we walked in. We said our names and who we were there to see and the receptionist sighed.

"Sorry but you can't see him today." The receptionist told us and me and Destiny looked at each other before looking back at her. "Why not?" I asked and Destiny crossed her arms. "He's getting ready for surgery." She told us and me and Destiny gasped. SURGERY? I didn't know it was that serious. "Can we not see him for at least five minutes?" Destiny asked her and she was hesitant for a reply. "Five minutes yes, be quick." She told us and me and Destiny ran to the hallway with all the rooms but stopped when we remembered that we're not aloud to run. "I didn't think it was so serious that he needs to get surgery." I said and Destiny nodded. "We know that he's had this for a while now and I guess it's because he never took care of it." She said, it was true. When Chris was in hospital before they told him that it should get better in a few weeks and since then he hasn't properly took care of it so I'm assuming it just came back. "It's in the worst place as well like it's so fragile for surgeons to touch." She said and I agreed. "People have died from it." She said and I hit her arm. "Don't say that!" I told her and she laughed. "What! It's true." She said and I sighed, we made it to Chris's room and went in.

(S= Stella, C= Chris, D= Destiny, DO= Doctor)

S: Hey Chris!
D: Wassup!
C: Hey guys!

He didn't sound well.

D: We heard that your getting surgery.
C: Yeah, tonight.
S: We're really worried, Chris.

C: Yeah me too, where's Jordan?
D: Asher said that she isn't feeling well so she isn't here.
C: Me and her both.
S: But we're gonna tell her and hopefully she'll come when your out of surgery.
C: I'm getting it tomorrow so I don't know why their preparing me today.
D: They're slow.
C: Haha, probably true.
C: I regret not taking care of it before. Instead I've been falling out of trees.
S: We feel bad for you.
D: Yeah.
C: I feel bad for myself.
D: Don't blame you.
C: You know Josh, Parker, Tayler and Ryder came to see me like two days ago.
S: They did?
C: Yeah.
D: So that's why Tayler left me on read!
C: No that was me on his phone.
D: Oh.
DO: Chris we need to go.
C: Oh okay.
S: Bye Chris! Good luck on the surgery!
D: Bye! I hope it goes well.
C: Thanks guys! Tell Jordan I said hi.

And then, we got kicked out. We went outside of the hospital and started walking. "I'll call Jordan and tell her how he needs surgery." I said and Destiny nodded. "She'll feel bad for not saying bye to him." She started. "But, can't blame her if she's not feeling well." I agreed and then called Jordan.

Jordan's POV:

I was sitting at the dining table with Asher's family and he went to answer my phone because it was ringing. He came back down not soon after though. "Who was it." I asked him and he sat down. "Stella, she was asking if you were going to the hospital to visit your friend but I just told her that your not feeling well." He said. "Thanks." I replied, I felt bad for not being able to see Chris and I regret going with Asher because I really should making sure that Chris's health is good but it's a little late now. "So Jordan, tell us about yourself now." Isa said like what he done in the car. "Uh okay." I started and Rose just went on her phone and put headphones in, obviously not wanting to listen to me. I mean, I wasn't wanting to hear her opinion on anything I said so I didn't mind. I told them about myself and they seemed ok with everything I said. "At least you're better than Luella, Asher I don't know why you dated her." Mary said and Asher laughed. "Me neither." He held my hand and seemed nervous. "You good?" I whispered to him, I've learnt pretty quickly that when he holds my hands it means he's scared. "Yeah, just scared of what they think of you." He smiled and I was scared as well but if they don't like me then at least I get to go back to Chris. Right? "I think you're perfect for him." Angus told me and I looked at Asher who had the biggest smile on his face with a relived look. I think that he only really cared about what his dad thought because he was the only person who didn't give up with Asher while growing up. I was happy as well, Lynn told him that she liked me as well and I could tell how happy it made him, even her just speaking to him. Isa said that he liked me as well but I already worked that out. "I hate her and I think you should get Luella back." Rose said and fake smiled at me before rolling her eyes, again. "Shut up Rose, why don't you just go live with Luella?" Angus suggested and I just sipped my tea. "Happily!" She stood up and walked out and Isa followed. It seemed like everyone in this family just has bad girlfriends. "Anyways." Asher started and moved on to a whole new conversation. Isa and Rose came back into the room not long after. "She calmed down and she's staying." He said relived, not gonna lie I don't know why she even lived here. Why can't she just go to her own house? Then I heard my phone ringing again and Asher stood up but I stopped him. "I'll get it." I told him. I had a feeling that it was Stella and if it was I knew it would be about Chris. I looked at it and it was her so I answered.

(D= Destiny, J= Jordan, S= Stella)

J: Hello?
S: Hey Jordan guess what?
J: What?
S: Chris is getting surgery.
J: Wh-what? Surgery?
S: Yeah.
D: They say that the thingy has grown.
S: The buldge.
D: Yeah and that it's deadly.
J: Oh my God.
S: He didn't sound well either.
J: I-I don't know what we can do.
S: Neither but do you think that your well enough to come after he's had the surgery? The boy gangs coming as well so it would only make sense if you were there as well.

I needed to come clean with them. Right now i'm just thinking if I should fly back home or not. I'm worried sick about Chris!

J: Well, I need to say something and you need to hear me out.
D: Oh no.
S: Okay.
J: I'm in L.A. with Asher to meet his family and I'm not not feeling well I just didn't tell anyone because I didn't want to cause any unnecessary drama and I feel terrible and now I'm thinking about flying home to see Chris because i'm so worried!

I started to tear up.

S: Oh Jordan.
D: Bad girl.
S: So what are you gonna do?
J: I don't know! I don't want to lose Asher but I want to make sure that Chris is okay!
S: If he truly loved you then he'd understand why you were going home and wouldn't care.
J: True.
D: At the end of the day, it's your choice. If you decide to stay then we'll facetime you when he gets out.
J: But that won't be the same! I don't know what the hell to do.
D: Jordan we got to go but you decide and remember what Stella said, if he truly loves you then he'll understand.
J: Okay.
S: So we might see you soon.
J: Yeah, okay bye!
S&D: Bye!

I hung up and just started crying. Asher was the first person who I truly loved but Chris was the first person who truly cared for me. Just then, Asher ran in. "Hey J, you okay?" He ran over to me and hugged me. "No! I don't know what to do!" I said and he looked at me while wiping one of my tears away. "With what?" He asked, this is what I mean! He loves me! I took a minute to reply and then I decided on what I was going to do.

TIME SKIP TO THE DAY CHRIS GETS OUT OF SURGERY

Stella's POV:

Today is the day Chris gets out of surgery. We still don't know if Jordan's gonna show up or not but we doubted it because he's out in two minutes and she isn't here. "It's sad that Jordan isn't here." Josh said and we all agreed. "She loves Asher though." Parker said and I could tell that that sentence hurt. "Do you two still have a crush on her?" I asked them and they looked at each other. "Yes but we like seeing her happy and Asher seems like a good person." Parker said for both of them, that was nice.

We sat in silence for a few seconds, praying that Chris would come out okay. Just then, one of the doors opened and a nurse came up to us. "He's out." She told us and we all stood up to go in. We didn't know what to expect when we walked in, either a healthy Chris or an unhealthy one. The nurse showed no emotion so we were just hoping that he was okay. Destiny was holding Tayler's hand and I could tell it was tight because he was going red.

We walked in and saw Chris with his eyes opened. He looked at us and smiled.

C: Hey guys! You're here!
All: Hey!
C: Did Jordan not come?
We told him where she was.
C: Oh.
He seemed really sad.
R: But we're here.
C: Not the same.
T: Mean.
C: Sorry.
P: So did it go well?
C: Well i'm not dead so.

We spoke for a bit.

??: Hey Chris.
