It wasn't all the easiest thing to get back.

He had to help Obi-Wan a bit, as his limps were still numb.

But finally they made it back.

The clearing looked devastated.

The rain had washed the broken branches, a bunch of plants and some animal cadavers down to the river, causing a picture of destruction, worse than what actual happened.

The thing that worried Rex though, was that the 'door' they had built was flung open.

The one side was still safely secured in the ground, but where they had secured it with the fishing net it had opened up.

Rex hurried over to the place, jumping down into the water, only to land almost knee deep in water.

He was incredibly glad that he had leaned Ahsoka against the wood pile.

Her head was just barely above the water level.

Quickly he picked her up and carried her out of the hole.

She was dripping wet and worse, her skin was ice cold.

As he sat her down and checked her pulse, he was relieved to notice, that indeed she still had one.

"Is she okay?" Obi-Wan asked from the side.

"Alive" Rex murmured. He felt bad for leaving her down there all alone.
"But she definitely has hypothermia. Not the best thing to have in her state. How did she even survive a day in that cold water?"

Obi-Wan shrugged. He had no idea, he was just grateful that she was alive.

"Can you warm her? I'll try to get the water out the hole" Rex said and turned around.

Obi-Wan came closer to Ahsoka and lifted the girl onto his lap, clutching her close to warm her with his body heat.

She had become to thin... even in his exhausted shape he could lift her with one arm.

Then again, he was a Jedi, so that probably didn't tell much.

He.... was a Jedi...

And a darn idiot.

He concentrated, falling into a meditation-like state.

It wasn't easy, but with a lot of concentration, he got the water our of Ahsokas clothes and off her skin.

Then he carefully sat her down and walked over to the hole, repeating the process, with the water in there.

Rex, who till that point had been taking the water out with the tiny stone bowl, gave a relieved sigh.

Then he picked up Ahsoka and got her back down.

While Obi-Wan fell in concentration the third time, soaking the water out of the wood, the blankets and the food, Rex started repairing the 'door'

The Clone was finished quite quick, Obi-Wan took longer.

Using Telekinesis on water or liquids in general was one thing. The learned it as younglings, starting with standing under a waterfall and deflecting the water with the force, working their way up to the way kore complex rain.

But using telekinesis to get the water out of materials. And that while already being exhausted anyway, was a terrible task.

After a few hours he was finally finished.

He collapsed on the ground from exhaustion.

"Never... doin' ... that ... again..." he mumbled tiredly.

"You didn't have too..." Rex replied. He hadn't risked waking the Jedi out of his meditation. That never was a good idea. "Things could have dried normally..."

"No... they couldn't" Obi-Wan replied. "Now start a darn fire to warm up Ahsoka. And wrap her up in those blankets again. She's freezing."

Rex did as told.

Once the fire was lit things started to be nicer.

The hole warmed and lit up, creating an almost comfortable environment.

Rex used some firewood to build an improvised little frame, to re-smoke the meat that had laid on the lower shelves, as it had come into contact with the water.

It was a more thankful task. He used a half of the fisher-net for it, as it was ripped apart by the wind anyway, the other half was holding the door shut again.

When things worked out, he finally allowed himself some sleep.

The next days Rex took care of everything.

Giving himself the fault for both accidents, he tried to make it up.

Obi-Wan disagreed, but had to recover, so he couldn't doo anything about it.

Rex got enough wood, to fill have of the hole, leaving only a small space for them to sit.

Just big enough for the four of them and the fire.

He collected berries, that they stores next to the wood.

He finished re-smoking the wood.

It even happened, that he ran across an animal, which decided to attack him. He won the fight, killing the predator with only so much as his small knife. He promptly carried it to the hole, started to skin it and also smoked that meat.

Sadly he couldn't make another blanket out of the leather, as the plants he would have needed for the process didn't grow anymore.

He still remembered, how Ahsoka had showed them to him.

"How do you know that those will work?" he had asked.

"This darn plant grows on a few thousand planets. Though this one seems to work a bit faster... actually a lot faster... must be some mutation. Oh and by the way... you do remember that I already made a blanket down here? I'm quite sure they work."

He was grateful she taught him so much. And at the moment he was grateful for the work.

It kept his mind of the nagging thought... 'what if I had protected her better?'
