Anakin refused to leave her side.

He refused to let go of her hand.

He just kept his own clenched around hers, worry clearly in his face.

Obi-Wan had taken care of the fire and Rex finished smoking the meat, wrapping it in leaves and placing if in the storage room.

The both of them just tried to stay busy.

They felt just as bad as Anakin did.

In the evening, all off them slept at the fire.

No one wanted to go to his tent. To be alone.

Anakin still hold her hand, desperately hoping she'd open her eyes.

But the only thing happening, where her slightly moving from time to time.

Not even much.

Barely enough to see it.

But Anakin felt the turmoil inside of her. The infection trying to take over, while she desperately clenched on life.

"It's okay Snips. You'll be all right. You're gonna be fine" he told her, what he already said so often in the past few hours.

Rex came over, handing him one of the bowls Ahsoka had carved.

It was filled with water.

"She has to drink" Rex told him.

For the first time, since she collapsed, he let go of her hand.

Carefully he leaned her against his chest, holding her upright with one arm, taking the bowl with the other.

Gently he poured water in her mouth.

She did move a bit, when the cold liquid touched her tongue.

Just a bit though.

At least a bit.

When the bowl was empty, Anakin laid her back, pulling one of the leather blankets over her fragile body.

She already looked half dead...

How was it possible, that he hadn't realised this for so long.

Once again he took her hand, slowly stroking the back of it with his thumb.

"I'm so... so... sorry" he slowly apologised.

"If I would have looked out better. If I would have checked the engines better, then you wouldn't be injured now." he sighed silently.

"I'm so sorry that I crashed the ship."

A small movement made him stop with his apologies.

"Who..." "who crashed a... ship?" Ahsoka slowly mumbled, her eyes cracking open, her gaze wandering around disoriented.

"Snips!" Anakin got out, relief clear in his tone.

But the girl didn't seem to react on that. Her gaze kept on wandering around, while she tried to move her hand, but failed, since it still was in Anakins grasp.

"W...what... has..." she squeezed her eyes shut for a moment, clearly out of pain.

"ha...ppened..." she finished her sentence then.

Rex and Obi-Wan had assembled around her.

Her gaze kept wandering, as she slowly moved her free hand up to her head.

A silent wince escaped her lips.

"It's okay Snips. You're going to be fine" Anakin told her.

This time she actually heard it.

Her eyes gazed over to him.

"Mastr..." she slurred, before her eyes closed again.

Anakin held her Hand tight.

"It's going to be okay..."
